Muhammad Azam Khan is a Pakistani politician and former civil servant who served as care taker chief minster of Khyber Pakhtunkha since 21 January 2023.

Early life

Muhammad Azam khan was born in a village named Parrang in Charsadda. He has a law degree from University of Peshawar. Mr. Khan has previously served as K-P finance minister from October 24, 2007, to April 1, 2008. He also remained the secretary of the ministry of petroleum and natural resources in Islamabad and the chief secretary in K-P from September 1990 to July 1993.

Muhammad Azam Khan is serving as care taker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 21 January 2023. [1] He was appointed by Governor Ghulam Ali after dissolution of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in January 2023. [2] [3]

He has been appointed as caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when former chief minister Mahmood Khan dissolved provincial assembly in January 2023. [4]

He previously served as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2002 to 2007. He served as Federal Minister for Housing and Works, in the Abbasi cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018 and as the Federal Minister for Housing and Works in the third Sharif ministry from June 2013 to July 2017. He was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2013 to May 2018 from NA-26 (Bannu).
