MULEA (Magadh University Late Exam Aandolan) is a social media campaign primarily on YouTube and Twitter. [1] [2]

It was started as the Students were fed up from the Magadh University, Government of Bihar's lethargy and Central Government's non intervention in the critical matter of youth.

Prior to starting the campaign the Students visited every high offices of the state ranging from Governor, Chief Minister, Bihar State Human Rights Commission.

They were also denied to hold peaceful protest by the administration citing the Model Code of Conduct in place for Lok Sabha Election, 2019.

Relevance of the Campaign

Due to the pressure of the campaign the university started taking exams in the month of May, 2019. [6] when the Model Code of Conduct was in place due to Lok Sabha election citing which the university had postponed the already delayed exams. Subsequently, it also conducted the Traditional courses exams of 2016–19 session in the month of June 2019. Further, it also conducted the first year exam of UG 2017–20 sessions which was running by two year late.

Further, taking into account the lackadaisical approach of the University the then Governor of Bihar Lalji Tandon removed the exam controller and some other officers of the university. Subsequently, the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University also had to resign. [7]

Aftermath of the campaign

People from across the world have come into their support by sending videos in their support. [8] [9] [10] The campaign went nearly viral on social media and also some print and electronic media reported it. [8] [11] The #mulea also trended on Twitter. [12] Their lives are at dark. They have called themselves Zombies in a YouTube video. [13]

Pataliputra Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 543 parliamentary constituencies in India. The constituency is located in Patna district in Bihar. Until 2008, there was only one Lok Sabha seat for Patna, capital of Bihar. In the reorganization effected that year, the city was awarded two seats, named Pataliputra and Patna Sahib. Pataliputra constituency has a total of 16.5 lakh electorate out of which 4 lakh are Yadavs, 3 lakh are Bhumihar, 1 lakh are Brahman, 1.7 lakh are Kurmi 1.7 lakh are Koeri, 1.5 lakh are Muslims, rest comprises dalit voters.

Sanjay Jaiswal is an Indian politician who has represented Paschim Champaran constituency of Bihar since 2009 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), winning the seat in 2009, 2014, and 2019. He served as the party president of the BJP in Bihar from September 2019 to 23 March 2023.

Janardhan Singh Sigriwal is an Indian politician of Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a member of the 17th Lok Sabha representing Maharajganj. Earlier He won Bihar assembly elections in 2000, Feb-2005, October 2005 from Jalalpur. He represented Chapra seat since 2010 in Bihar assembly. He was also Minister of Labour Resources. He was a sports and youth minister in Nitish Kumar cabinet.
