Multana Ram Barupal is an Indian advocate,politician and former MLA of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. [1] . He was first Scheduled Caste MLA of Jaisalmer,changing trends of politics of Jaisalmer,and starting of Social Justice politics in western Rajasthan. He won the election as independent candidate(Total secured votes 26342,defeating candidates of Bhopal Singh Indian National Congress by 6102 votes,and Jugat Singh BJP. In 1985,Jaisalmer legislative assembly constituency had total 129911 electors. Total number of valid vote was 67148 (52% polling). Multana Ram later supported Indian National Congress Party during President election,and Rajya Sabha Election.
He has been chairman of Bar Association of Jaisalmer. [2] He is the author of the Book,"Bantvar Nama",a legal fiction,how a mistake by a government officer leads to a long land disputes between two poor families,and how Indian judiciary administration was unable to do the justice. Based on his 40 years of legal practice in land laws,he explains complex Indian land,civil and criminal laws with this story.
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was an Indian politician who served as the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002,when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant,until he resigned on 21 July 2007,after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times,from 1977 to 1980,1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998.
