Munira Shabbir Moosajee is a Pakistani medical oncologist, hematologist, and academic. She is the Section Head of Medical Oncology and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi. [1] Moosajee specializes in hematological malignancies, solid tumors, and stem cell transplantation, and has published on cancer outcomes and treatment challenges in low- and middle-income countries. [2] She also serves as Treasurer of the Society of Medical Oncology Pakistan (SMOP). [3]
Moosajee completed her MBBS from Baqai Medical College in 2001. [1] She trained in Internal Medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2004 to 2007, followed by fellowships in Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, from 2007 to 2010. Moosajee joined the Aga Khan University Hospital in 2010 as Assistant Professor and later became Section Head of Medical Oncology. [1] She has contributed to the hospital’s stem cell transplant program and provides care for patients with lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, breast, gastric, and colorectal cancers. [1] She is also actively involved in professional organizations, serving as Treasurer of the Society of Medical Oncology Pakistan. [3]

Moosajee has contributed to public health awareness through opinion pieces and media appearances. In 2025, she authored an op-ed in Pakistan Today titled "Breaking the silence: Confronting cancer in Pakistan through awareness and early detection". [8] She has been quoted in The Express Tribune on the importance of empathy in patient care, [9] and was featured in a Dawn report covering a cancer survivor awareness event in Karachi. [10]
She has also participated in Facebook Live sessions organized by Aga Khan University Hospital to raise awareness on breast cancer. [11]
