A performance rights organisation (PRO), also known as a performing rights society, provides intermediary functions, particularly collection of royalties, between copyright holders and parties who wish to use copyrighted works publicly in locations such as shopping and dining venues. Legal consumer purchase of works, such as buying CDs from a music store, confer private performance rights. PROs usually only collect royalties when use of a work is incidental to an organisation's purpose. Royalties for works essential to an organisation's purpose, such as theaters and radio, are usually negotiated directly with the rights holder. The interest of the organisations varies: many have the sole focus of musical works, while others may also encompass works and authors for audiovisual, drama, literature, or the visual arts.

The term "K-pop" became popular in the 2000s, especially in the international context. The Korean term for domestic pop music is gayo, which is still widely used within South Korea. While "K-pop" can refer to all popular music or pop music from South Korea, it is colloquially often used in a narrower sense for any Korean music and artists associated with the entertainment and idol industry in the country, regardless of the genre.

Avri Levitan is an Israeli violist based in Berlin. He conceived the nonprofit Musethica with Carmen Marcuello in 2009 and launched it in 2012 in Zaragoza, Spain. Levitan has received nominations at the BBC Music Magazine Awards in 2009 and the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards in 2012.
International Jazz Day is an International Day declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 "to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe." It is celebrated annually on April 30. The idea came from jazz pianist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Herbie Hancock. Jazz Day is chaired by Hancock and the UNESCO Director-General. The celebration is recognized on the calendars of both UNESCO and the United Nations.

Little Singers of Armenia is a children's choir founded in Yerevan, Armenia in 1992. The choir is typically made up of 40 members who are mostly girls aged 8 to 18. The choir actively performs in Armenia and abroad. It has participated in many international festivals, governmental projects, and charity concerts. The founder, artistic director, and principal conductor of the choir is Tigran Hekekyan.
Where in the World of Music Is Carmen Sandiego? is a concert series developed by Gary Sheldon. It consists of three concerts: The Case of the Missing Concert Hall, The Case of the Missing Bells, and The Case of the Missing Pyramids. The annual family concerts are based on the popular Carmen Sandiego video game Where In The World, and the subsequent franchise. Sheldon has "taken [the show] to orchestras throughout America". Bobby Weinapple, who starred as Inspector Clue-Not in the shows, still works with singers of all kinds at Seydways Studios in San Francisco.
The National Youth Orchestra of China is a full symphony youth orchestra composed of approximately 100 Chinese musicians aged 14 to 21 years old. Students from all over China audition to participate in a two-week training residency before performing alongside a renowned soloist and conductor in premier venues throughout the world.
