Oshana is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Oshakati. The towns of Oshakati, Ongwediva and Ondangwa, all situated with this region, form an urban cluster with the second largest population concentration in Namibia after the capital Windhoek. As of 2020, Oshana had 113,112 registered voters.

Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School, also known as GT, is a governmental secondary school in Ongwediva in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia. The school opened its doors in 1988 and was officially inaugurated in 1989 by then SWAPO deputy education minister Buddy Wentworth. It is named after Gabriel Taapopi. Its principal is Eelu Sakaria. The school is one of the top performing schools in the country. It has around 800 learners and about 30 teachers. The school features a large computer laboratory, physical science and biology labs as well as sports grounds.
Omashekediva is a settlement near Oikango village in the Oshana Region of northern Namibia. It belongs to the Ongwediva electoral constituency and has an estimated population of about 2000 people.
Omagongati is a village situated in the northern part of Namibia in Ondangwa Rural Constituency, Oshana region, it borders the Kingdom of Ondonga from that of Uukwambi, and it is under the leadership of the headman Mr. Noah Nakwfila, well known as Kapinya. Omagongati is as far from Ondangwa as it is from Oshakati, roughly 17 km away and 11km from Ongwediva. It is surrounded by numerous villages, namely Ashaaga, Onelago, Uudhengelo and Okatha, with the nearest town Eheke which has a high school and more improved infrastructures.
Benjamin Hauwanga, commonly known as B.H., is a Namibian businessman. His parents separated while he was a young boy; his mother single-handedly raised him, although his father visited the family regularly. He has eight siblings.
Oshipumbu or Oshipumbu Shomugongo is a village in Ompundja Constituency, Oshana Region, northern Namibia. The name means "group of tall trees". Oshipumbu Shomugongo is approximately 17 km (11 mi) away from Oshakati, a northern town in Oshana region. Oshipumbu is in the Ondonga Traditional Authority and lies in the Lake Oponono area. There are two schools, namely Onevonga Primary School and Oshipumbu Combined School. The councilor of Oshipumbu is Adolf H. Uunona, a former teacher at the combined school. Clean water is available which has been provided by the Directorate of Rural Water Supply; water-points have been set up throughout the village. The inhabitants are small-scale subsistence farmers who keep livestock, such as cattle, goats, sheep, donkeys, and grow crops, such as maize and sorghum, for their own consumption.A rape case was reported from Oshipumbu Shomugongo in 2021. There is also an agricultural technician in the village named Sirkka Kanalelo.
Lazarus Shinyemba Ipangelwa was a prominent Namibian businessman and former Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank (Namibia), born on 20 June 1955 in Omagongati, Oshana Region. Ipangelwa became the first local black person to head a commercial bank in Namibia when he was appointed in March 2003. He also served as the Vice President of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and he was also Deputy Governor of Bank of Namibia prior to joining FNB.
Charles Anderson Combined School is a non-boarding government combined school in the Oshana Region of Namibia, founded in 1999 and situated in Ongwediva. Graduates frequently occupy the national Grade 10 top ten. The building of the school was funded by the Swedish government. The school is named after Charles John Andersson. The school teaches about 800 students from grade 1 to grade 10.
Kornelia Kashiimbindjola Shilunga is a Namibian politician and member of the National Assembly since 2015. She currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy. and became the first woman Deputy Minister at the Ministry. Shilunga has a satisfactory employment history. The assiduous Deputy Minister worked in various positions as a teacher and a registered nurse.
Ester-Anna-Liisa Shiwomwenyo Nghipondoka is a Namibian politician and member of SWAPO. She was appointed the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture in March 2020 after having worked as deputy minister with the same portfolio since 2015.In 2021 under her ministry they have implemented a new education curriculum called Advanced Subsidiary(AS). She further stated in 2022 that the new curriculum is not a bad. Nghipondoka also encouraged the teachers to embrace the new curriculum despise the challenges it has.
