The film was produced by West Coast Film in association with Colombian company Bolivariana Films. [1] [2] Roberto Cenci's role was originally intended for Alessandro Momo. [2] Principal photography started in Bogotá on 1 July 1974. [2]
Italian film critic Marco Giusti referred to the film as 'terrible, extremely vulgar and full of absurd jokes'. [2] Il Mondo's critic Francesco Savio described it as 'not only obscene, but also tainted by a subtle veil of racism'. [3] The film was a box office success, grossing over 1.100 million lire, and launched the film career of Carmen Villani. [2] It had a sequel, Emmanuelle's Silver Tongue . [2]
