Myanmore is an English-language lifestyle and entertainment platform in Myanmar. It was founded in 2012 by Swedish national Andreas Sigurdsson. [2] [3] The platform caters to the expatriate and local business community of Yangon as well as visiting tourists. Its parent company is Lychee Ventures. The publications, issued weekly, monthly, and quarterly, are free and available in more than 100 venues across Yangon.[ citation needed ]

The digital site features cinema listings for theaters around Yangon. After collaborating with the Pakistani-based e-ticketing company, BookMe, Myanmore became the first company to offer cinema tickets online and through mobile phones in Myanmar. The company also uses e-ticketing to manage bus fares around Yangon. [4] [5]

Publications

Printed publications include the Weekly Guide, InDepth Monthly Lifestyle Magazine, KnowIt Survival Guide, and EnjoyIt Dining and Nightlife Guide. Myanmore Maps is a twice-yearly publication providing directional content information of noteworthy establishments in all major cities of Myanmar. Myanmore offers a loyalty card platform for dining and various businesses around the city, the first loyalty platform in Myanmar. [6]

Awards

Myanmore hosts the annual Myanmore Dining and Nightlife Awards, which began in 2013. [7] The awards show recognizes local establishments who contribute to the food and beverage industry through social entrepreneurship. In 2017, 45 awards were given out to selected establishments, with categories ranging from ethnic Rakhine cuisine to western comfort foods.[ citation needed ]

Naypyidaw Capital of Myanmar

Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw, is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the center of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. The city, then known only as Pyinmana District, officially replaced Yangon as the administrative capital of Myanmar on 6 November 2005; its official name was revealed to the public on Armed Forces Day, 27 March 2006.

Myanmar Airways International Co., Ltd. is a privately owned airline headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar. It operates scheduled international services to destinations mainly in Southeast Asia and is based at Yangon International Airport. Myanmar Airways International was the sponsor of the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. MAI's logo shows pyinsarupa, a traditional Burmese chimeric animal.

Sai Sai Kham Leng Burmese musician and actor (born 1979)

Sai Sai Kham Leng is a Burmese singer-songwriter, model, novelist, and actor of ethnic Shan descent. He is considered one of the most commercially successful male singer in the history of Burmese hip hop music.

Yangon Circular Railway

Yangon Circular Railway is the local commuter rail network that serves the Yangon metropolitan area. Operated by Myanmar Railways, the 45.9-kilometre (28.5 mi) 39-station loop system connects satellite towns and suburban areas to the city. Circa 2008–2010, the railway had about 200 coaches, had 20 daily runs, and sold 100,000 to 150,000 tickets daily. The loop, which takes about three hours to complete, is a way to see a cross section of life in Yangon. The Railway is heavily utilized by lower-income commuters, as it is the cheapest method of transportation in Yangon.

Penske Media Corporation (PMC) is an American digital media, publishing, and information services company based in Los Angeles and New York City. It publishes more than 20 digital and print brands, including Variety, Rolling Stone, WWD, Deadline Hollywood, BGR, and others. PMC's Chairman and CEO since founding is Jay Penske.

<i>Outlook Media</i>

Outlook Media was a Columbus, Ohio-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) lifestyle and advocacy company for the Ohio queer and allied community from 1995 until late 2017. Their flagship product, Outlook Columbus was a news, politics, and lifestyle magazine. CB Bank

CB Bank is one of Myanmar's oldest and largest commercial banks. It became the first bank in Myanmar to issue ATM cards and credit cards. The bank, led by U Khin Mg Aye (Chairman) and U Kyaw Lynn (CEO) has over 200 branches across the country.

Phyo Min Thein Burmese politician

Phyo Min Thein is a Burmese politician and former political prisoner who is currently serving as Chief Minister of Yangon Region and Yangon Region Parliament MP for Hlegu Township Constituency No. 2. Prior to this, he was the chairman of Union Democratic Party and founder of People Democracy Party which was later merged with Union Democratic Party.

J-Me is a prominent Burmese hip hop singer-songwriter and rapper who began his musical career in the 2000s. He has been dubbed as the "Myanmar's Underground Hip Hop Legend" for his hip hop works and successful music career.

Myanmar Plaza

Myanmar Plaza is a large shopping mall in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). The plaza consists of retail outlets, including home appliance and electronics stores, lifestyle shops, and beauty and fashion shops, and a 4,000 square metres (43,056 sq ft) food court with cafes, fast food, dining and teashops. The pavilion also holds a 2,000 square metres (21,528 sq ft) outlet for Marketplace, a grocery store.

<i>Kayan Beauties</i>

Kayan Beauties is a 2012 Myanmar film written and directed by Aung Ko Latt. The film tells the story of four Kayan girls traveling from Kayah State to Taunggyi and deals with themes of human trafficking and cultural exploitation.

Canal+ (Myanmar) Burmese multichannel television service

Canal+ is a Burmese multichannel television service operated through a joint venture between Forever Group in Myanmar and Canal+ Group in France. Originally launched by Forever Group alone, Canal+ Group joined in the business in 2017, and the service adopted the current name in April 2021.

John Lwin Burmese model and activist (born 1967)

John Lwin is a former Burmese model, model agency founder, event organizer, and LGBT rights activist. After being model scouted at a young age while living in Singapore, he enjoyed a successful career, modelling in Southeast Asia between 1989 and 1995, from Hong Kong to the Philippines. He has discovered and trained more than 200 models and 30 actors.

Kyaw Kyaw Bo

Kyaw Kyaw Bo is a Myanmar Academy Award winning Burmrese actor, singer, traditional dancer and sometime comedian with the Burmese traditional anyeint troupe Htawara Hninzi. He won the 2018 Myanmar Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor with the film Clinging with Hate. He is best known for his role in the film A Story Long Ago (2010) and The Dark Cinema (2019). Throughout his career, he has acted in over 300 films.

May is a Burmese actress, model and singer. She has achieved fame and success as an actress and singer. May won the Best Theme Song Award at the 2018 Star Awards for her work in the film Chu Si.

Lin Aung Khit

Lin Aung Khit is a Burmese actor and model. He began his entertainment career as a runway model and had his breakthrough in the 2013 film Ta Khu Latt.

Zay Ye Htet

Zay Ye Htet is a Burmese actor, model and producer. He is considered one of the highest successful actors of Burmese cinema. Throughout his career, he has acted in over 100 films. In 2018, he founded the ZYH Film & Video Production.
