The site is bordered on the north by Dagon Centre Shopping Mall, on the east by Gamone Pwint shopping centre, one the south by Padonemar park and one other unknown small park. [2]

Sanchaung Intersection square is like Yangon version of New York Time Square. [2] There are a lot of advertising billboards including one LCD TV. [3] Dagon centre shopping mall is one of the city’s busiest, located at a junction of Pyay Road and Bargayar Road. The Itwo4 DJ Lounge, Star Mart supermarket and MK Fashion shop dominate the ground floor. Modern branded shoes, bags and fabrics are on sale and also snack shops and café in the mall include. [4] Some video production companies often come and shoot at Dagon Centre shopping mall. Myaynigone plaza is between Dagon Centre Shopping Mall and Gamone Pwint shopping centre. City Mart super market is a famous super market in Yangon. Video Production Companies also shoot at City Mart. Gamone Pwint shopping centre is just like Dagon Centre Shopping Mall. Padonemar Park is a small park. An unknown park is not a real park. but it has a fountain and a small pound. [2]

History

In 2005, there was a bomb explosion at Dagon Centre Shopping Mall. At least 11 people died in four near-simultaneous blasts in Yangon including Dagon Centre Shopping Mall. [5]

Yangon City Hall

Yangon City Hall is the city hall of Yangon, the largest city of Myanmar, and the seat of the city's administrative body, Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC). The building is considered a fine example of syncretic Burmese architecture, featuring traditional tiered roofs called pyatthat, and was designed by Burmese architect U Tin, who also designed Central Railway Station. Construction began in 1926 and ended in 1936. The city hall occupies the former site of the Ripon Hall.

Thihathu of Prome, or Sihasura, was viceroy of Prome (Pyay) from 1275 to 1288. He is known in Burmese history for assassinating his own father King Narathihapate, the last sovereign king of the Pagan Empire, in 1287. He was the maternal grandfather of King Swa Saw Ke of Ava.

The May 2005 Yangon bombings were nearly simultaneous bomb blasts that killed 11 people and injured 162 on 7 May 2005 in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma).

City Mart Holdings is one of Myanmar’s largest retail outlet, employing more than 8,000 employees. The City Mart Group started as a modern supermarket in 1996 in the north wing of Bogyoke Aung San Stadium but has since expanded into many different aspects of modern retail trade such as supermarkets, pharmacies, bookstores, baby stores, convenience stores and bakery & coffee shops. Sein Gay Har is a major Burmese retailer. Sein Gay Har began as a market in Rangoon's Chinatown in 1985. The company runs major shopping centers in Yangon.
