Myint Maung is a Burmese politician who currently serves as Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region and Taninthayi Region Parliament MP for Kawthaung Township Constituency No. 2. [1] [2]
He previously served as the Minister of Natural Resource and Environment for Taninthayi Region from 2016 to 2019. Myint Maung is also the NLD secretary for Tanintharyi Region. He was appointed as acting Chief Minister for Tanintharyi Region on 11 March 2019 after former chief minister Lei Lei Maw was arrested on charges of corruption. [3] [4] On 10 February 2021,in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état,Myint Maung was arrested and detained during a late-night raid of his residence. [5]
The State Peace and Development Council was the official name of the military government of Burma (Myanmar) which,in 1997,succeeded the State Law and Order Restoration Council that had seized power under the rule of Saw Maung in 1988. On 30 March 2011,Senior General and Council Chairman Than Shwe signed a decree that officially dissolved the council.
The Treaty of Yandabo was the peace treaty that ended the First Anglo-Burmese War. The treaty was signed on 24 February 1826,nearly two years after the war formally broke out on 5 March 1824,by General Sir Archibald Campbell on the British side,and the Governor of Legaing Maha Min Hla Kyaw Htin from the Burmese side,without any due permission and consent of the Ahom kingdom,Kachari kingdom or the other territories covered in the treaty. With the British army at Yandabo village,only 80 km (50 mi) from the capital Ava,the Burmese were forced to accept the British terms without discussion.
Myint Swe is a Burmese politician and retired army general currently serving as Acting President of Myanmar as well as First Vice President. He previously served as the acting president after the resignation of President Htin Kyaw on 21 March 2018,and the chief minister of Yangon Region from 30 March 2011 to 30 March 2016. On 30 March 2016,he was sworn in as the vice president of Myanmar. A member of the military proxy Union Solidarity and Development Party,he is an ethnic Mon former lieutenant general in the Myanmar Army.

Thado Minsaw,also known as Shwedaung Min (ရွှေတောင်မင်း),was heir-apparent of Burma from 1783 to 1808,during the reign of his father King Bodawpaya of Konbaung dynasty. As Prince of Shwedaung and Dabayin,he was entrusted by the king to manage the day-to-day affairs of the kingdom,and when necessary,to lead the Royal Army against enemies. Thado Minsaw is best known for his conquest of Arakan in 1784–1785 and the subsequent removal of Mahamuni Buddha from Mrauk-U to Amarapura. He also led the successful defense of Tenasserim (Taninthayi) coast in 1792 in the war with Siam. The crown prince also led the revitalization of Burmese theater in the late 18th century by bringing a group of young artists to his court.

Tanintharyi Nature Reserve is a strict nature reserve in Myanmar's Tenasserim Hills,covering 1,699.99 km2 (656.37 sq mi). In elevation,it ranges from at an elevation of 20–130 m (66–427 ft). Most of the tropical rain forest is evergreen,interspersed with some grassland. The reserve provides habitat to Asian elephant and Gurney's pitta. It was gazetted in 2005 for the maintenance of natural resources,scientific research and education of local people in surrounding communities.

Maung Myint,aka Ye Myint is a Burmese politician and incumbent Pyithu Hluttaw member of parliament for Mingin Township. He previously served as Minister for Industry of Myanmar. He was appointed to the post by President Thein Sein in July 2013 as a result of a cabinet reshuffle. Maung Myint contested the 2010 Burmese general election,winning a seat in the Pyithu Hluttaw to represent Thongwa Township constituency. The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services is the supreme commander of the Tatmadaw,the armed forces of Myanmar. Since a state of emergency was declared following the 2021 military coup d'état,the Commander-in-Chief has been the highest authority in the country,with plenary power delegated by the president and the National Defence and Security Council (NDSC). Even in peacetime,however,the Tatmadaw is an independent branch of government under control of the Commander-in-Chief,though certain actions of the Commander-in-Chief require the approval of the NDSC.
Colonel Kyaw Zaya is a Burmese military officer currently serving as Minister of Security and Border Affairs for Tanintharyi Region since 20 February 2017. He previously served as Acting Chief Minister of Tanintharyi Region after the arrested Chief Minister Lei Lei Maw with corruption case on 10 March 2019.He became a member of Tanintharyi Administration Council formed after 2021 coup and resumed military services on 1 August 2021.

The State Administration Council is the military junta currently governing Myanmar,established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état and the declaration of a state of emergency by the National Defence and Security Council. Under the constitution,the Commander-in-Chief holds absolute legislative,executive,and judicial power during a state of emergency. Min Aung Hlaing has delegated his legislative power to the SAC,which he chairs. It has formed a provisional administration,also led by Min Aung Hlaing as Prime Minister of Myanmar.
Maung O,Prince of Salin,was a prince of the first rank of the Konbaung dynasty. He was the brother of Nanmadaw Me Nu,the chief queen of King Bagyidaw. Favored by the king and queen,he was granted the appanage of Salin,Saku and Thamyintone with the title of Thado Maha Thudhamma Yaza. He and Me Nu became the de facto rulers and are some examples of powerful figures who were the most powerful officials of their time.
