N.K.P. Muthukoya is an Indian painter of modern art, known for his surrealism paintings . [1] [2]

Early life

He was born in 1941 in Andrott, Lakshadweep. [1] In the 1940s, Muthukoya's family moved from Lakshadweep to Kannur. He studied in Elathur CMC High School. [3] He completed his art studies at Madras School of Art under K. C. S. Paniker. [1] In 1998, he joined the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity as exhibition officer and then voluntarily retired as broadcasting officer. [4]

The Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Fellowship is an honour presented by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi, an autonomous organisation for the encouragement, preservation, and documentation of the performing arts of Kerala, set up by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala. Instituted in 1972, the fellowships are given to outstanding artistes who have contributed to the performing arts in the state. Sadhu Aliyur was an Indian (watercolor) painter and art teacher from Kerala, India. He has done a workshop on the art of watercolor painting at the State Gallery of Fine Arts. He co-founded "Colouring India foundation" a non profit organisation.

Kithaab, also Kitab, is a Malayalam-language play featuring a humorous portrayal of a young girl who dreams of calling out the Azaan (vaang), the Islamic call to worship normally recited by a male muezzin or mukri. The girl questions the subjugation of women in her community, and rebels against community norms by dancing with her friends, stealing food denied to her, and demanding the opportunity to call the vaang.

Mathoor Govindan Kutty was an Indian Kathakali artist from the state of Kerala. In a career spanning over six decades, he specialized in Kathakali Stri Vesham, the portrayal of female characters on stage. He was the recipient of the 2011 Kerala State Award for the best Kathakali artist, 2010 Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award and the 2005 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for contributions to the Kathakali art form.

Rafeeq Mangalassery is a Malayalam-language script writer and director from Chettippadi in India. His drama Annaperuna depicts wastage of food while many others go hungry. He also directed Kottem Kareem.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">C. S. N. Patnaik</span> Indian sculptor and painter (1925–2022)

Chowdhary Satyanarayana Patnaik, commonly known as C. S. N. Patnaik, was an Indian sculptor and painter from the state of Andhra Pradesh. He specialized in fresco and mural painting and bronze sculpting. His paintings incorporated depictions of rural life and its tradition and culture. He sculpted a statue of Mahatma Gandhi which was installed at the Telangana Legislative Assembly. He received the Kala Ratna award in 2006.
