NNS Bomadi (P176) is an Ocea FPB 72 patrol boat operated by the Nigerian Navy. [1] [2]
Bomadi is 24 metres (78 ft 9 in) long, and is capable of traveling at 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph). [1]
On August 13, 2014, Bomadi captured MV Elmina, with a load of stolen crude oil. [2] Her crew of 20 were taken into custody. On August 19, Bomadi impounded a grounded barge, MV Lila, loaded with contraband oil. [3]
SHIRORO – P185" and "OSE – P186", will join the three other 24-meter Fast Patrol Boats delivered in 2012 by OCEA: "OKPOKU – P175", "BOMADI – P176" and "BADAGRY – P177", as well as a 32-meter Fast Patrol Boat, type OCEA FPB 98 MKI, delivered in 2013: "DORINA – P101". The fleet will be completed by three additionel FPB72 MKII and two FPB110 MKII.
The suspects including 18 Nigerians, one Camerounian and one Ghanaian were on board the vessel MV ELMINA.
According to the Flag Officer the grounded vessel, MV LILA and tug MV St. VICTORIA have been impounded? by a Naval gun boat, NNS BOMADI, at Odioama along St. Nicholas river in Brass local government of the state saying that six persons who tried to remove its contents were arrested.
