Plot

Desiring the impossible is a dangerous feeling. The path is something mandatory, you have to fight. Despair leads us through fatal shortcuts. But, what if the only way to achieve our dreams is to commit a crime? Would we be able to do it? Like any criminal, Lucia and Pipo believe they have committed the perfect crime. For a long time, they think they are living the dream of a happy family with their three kids until death comes to life. The family album hides ghosts that no one imagines. La Bamba is a 1987 American biographical drama film written and directed by Luis Valdez. The film follows the life and short-lived musical career of Mexican-American Chicano rock and roll star Ritchie Valens. The film stars Lou Diamond Phillips as Valens, Esai Morales, Rosanna DeSoto, Elizabeth Peña, Danielle von Zerneck and Joe Pantoliano. The film also covers the effect that Valens' career had on the lives of his half-brother Bob Morales, his girlfriend Donna Ludwig, and the rest of his family. The film is titled after a Mexican folk song of the same name, which Valens transformed into a rock and roll rendition in 1958. "La Bamba" is a Mexican folk song, originally from the state of Veracruz, also known as "La Bomba". The song is best known from a 1958 adaptation by Ritchie Valens, a Top 40 hit in the U.S. charts. Valens's version is ranked number 345 on Rolling Stone magazine′s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
