Naburot Island (Locally known as Isla Naburot) is an island located in Brgy. Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras in the Philippines. The island can be also seen from Alubihod Beach resort in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. [1] [2] It has a size of around 39.500 square meters or around 425.000 square feet.

Iloilo City, officially the City of Iloilo, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, located on the southeastern coast of the island of Panay. It is the capital city of the province of Iloilo, where it is geographically situated and grouped under the Philippine Statistics Authority, but remains politically independent in terms of government and administration. In addition, it is the center of the Iloilo–Guimaras Metropolitan Area, as well as the regional center and primate city of the Western Visayas region. According to the 2020 census, Iloilo City has a population of 457,626 people. For the metropolitan area, the total population is 1,007,945 people.

On August 11, 2006, an oil spill occurred in Panay Gulf when the oil tanker, MT Solar 1, sank off the coasts of Guimaras and Negros in the Philippines, causing what is considered to be the worst oil spill in the country's history.

The Maniguin Island Lighthouse is a lighthouse that marks the Cuyo East Passage, a main shipping route south into the Sulu Sea. The island, also known as Maningning Island or Hammerhead Island, is located 42.6 km off of the coast of Culasi, Antique in the Philippines. It has a narrow ridge 33.5 metres high across its southern end, and the remainder of the island is low and wooded, and not more than 4.5 metres high. It is fringed with coral reefs with deep water at their edges. The round cylindrical concrete tower with a gallery on top is located near the southeastern point of the island.
Pedro Brancia Yeto was a lieutenant assigned to the U.S. Signal Corps during World War II. He had set up a wireless radio relay station on this island which lies at 10°24′24″N122°33′13″E between Guimaras Island and Guiuanon Island on the Province of Panay in the Republic of the Philippines. The natives called it "isla ni Yeto" referring to the place being used by the soldiers fighting against the Japanese invaders at that time and under the command of Lt. P. B. Yeto. It served the purpose of relaying messages to American submarines nearby for rescuing downed American pilots.
The Islas Marías make up an archipelago in Mexico, consisting of four islands. They are located in the Pacific Ocean, some 100 km (62 mi) off the coast of the state of Nayarit and about 370 km (230 mi) southeast of the tip of Baja California. They are part of the municipality (municipio) of San Blas, Nayarit. The islands were used as a penal colony until February 18, 2019 when President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ordered the closure of its operation as Islas Marías Federal Prison.
