The Telugu Desam Party is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was founded by the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N. T. Rama Rao (N.T.R.) on 29 March 1982 and has focused on supporting Telugu speakers. The party has won a five-time majority in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and has emerged as the most successful political outfit in the state's history. It is currently the main opposition party in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
Deshmukh (IAST:Dēśamukh), is a historical title conferred to the rulers of a Dēśamukhi. Kasula Purushottama Kavi was a Telugu poet who lived during the late 18th century. His parents were Kasula Appalaraju and Ramanamma. He hailed from the Diviseema area of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. He was a court poet of the then-Raja of Challapalli, Yarlagadda Ankineedu Prasad I of the Challapalli Samasthanam and possibly of his father as well. Purushottama Kavi is recognized for composing literary works in Telugu consisting of one hundred poetic stanzas, known as satakams.

Nadella Purushottama Kavi was an Indian scholar, playwright, teacher and editor. Purushottama Kavi is notable for his "Chitra Kavyas". He was a great scholar in Sanskrit, Telugu, Persian and Hindi and composed more than 100 works in Telugu and Hindi. He also authored several plays in Hindi for the Hindu Nataka Samajam.
