Naeem Sadiq is an Indian-based neurologist. [1] [2] He is the Medical Director at Plexus Neuro and Stem Cell Research Center. [3]

Education and career

Sadiq holds an MBBS degree from Gulbarga University in 1988. He also obtained a Ph.D degree in Neurology from University of Colombo.

Sadiq has been practising in the field of neurology for decades. [4] [5] [6] He worked at NIMHANS and did his PG in neurosciences. He also worked as a senior research officer at Nimhans. [7] Sadiq was instrumental in initiating a Neurology unit and Neurology and Neurophysiology unit at AlNour Hospital, Saudi Arabia. [8]

Since 2011, Sadiq has been the Chief Neurologist and Managing Director at Plexus Neuro & Stem Cell Research Centre, Bangalore. [9] He is a member of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Karnataka Medical Council. [10]

He was a vice chancellor of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur and a member of the Planning Board of the Government of Rajasthan. He was a recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. Ashok Panagariya was awarded the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014. He died on 11 June 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.

Kameshwar Prasad is an Indian neurologist, medical researcher, academic and the head of the Department of Neurology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi (AIIMS), known as a proponent of evidence-based medicine (EBM) and evidence-based healthcare (EBHC). The government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 1991.

C. U. Velmurugendran is an Indian neurologist, medical writer and the chairman and head of the Department of Neurology at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. He is an honorary professor at the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati and has contributed chapters to books including Diseases of the Spinal Cord, published in 2012. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2008, for his contributions to medicine.

Kurupath Radhakrishnan is an Indian neurologist and epileptologist, who has established R Madhavan Nayar Center for Comprehensive Epilepsy Care, (RMNC) at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Thiruvananthapuram, India. Anne Cross is an American neurologist and neuroimmunologist and the Section Head of Neuroimmunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Cross holds the Manny and Rosalyn Rosenthal–Dr. John L. Trotter Endowed Chair in Neuroimmunology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and co-directs the John L Trotter Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Cross is a leader in the field of neuroimmunology and was the first to discover the role of B cells in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in animals and then in humans. Cross now develops novel imaging techniques to observe inflammation and demyelination in the central nervous systems of MS patients for diagnosis and disease management.

Charalampos (Haris) Tzoulis is Professor of Neurology and Neurogenetics at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen, Norway. He is a Consultant neurologist and co-Director of the Neuro-SysMed National Center for Clinical Treatment Research in neurological diseases, funded by the Norwegian Research Council. At the Neuro-SysMed Center, Prof. Tzoulis is research Director for neurodegeneration. In addition, in 2022, Prof. Tzoulis established the K.G. Jebsen Center for Translational Research in Parkinson's disease at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital, with funding from the K.G. Jebsen Foundation, focusing on better diagnostics and identification of disease subtypes in order to offer personalized treatments.
