Nahid is a 2015 Iranian drama film directed by Ida Panahandeh. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival where it won a Promising Future Prize (special jury prize for debut films). [1] [2]
Un Certain Regard is a section of the Cannes Film Festival's official selection. It is run at the salle Debussy, parallel to the competition for the Palme d'Or. This section was introduced in 1978 by Gilles Jacob.
The 62nd Cannes Film Festival took place from 13 May to 24 May 2009. French actress Isabelle Huppert served as jury president for the main competition. Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke won the Palme d'Or, the festival's top prize, for the drama film The White Ribbon.
Panos H. Lisandro Alonso is an Argentine film director and screenwriter. He has directed six feature-length films and a short film since 2001 and is loosely associated with the New Argentine Cinema movement. His film La libertad was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Two of his films were selected for the Toronto International Film Festival, Los Muertos in 2004, and Liverpool in 2008. His 2014 film Jauja competed in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize. In addition, he was named Film Society of Lincoln Center 2014 Filmmaker in Residence on 24 June 2014. His 2023 film Eureka, featuring Viggo Mortensen, screened at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Cannes Premiere section.

Journey to the Shore is a 2015 Japanese romantic drama film directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, starring Tadanobu Asano and Eri Fukatsu. It is adapted from Kazumi Yumoto's novel Kishibe no Tabi. It screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, where Kurosawa won the prize for Best Director. It was released in Japan on 1 October 2015.
The High Sun is a 2015 Croatian drama film directed by Dalibor Matanić. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival winning the Jury Prize. It is the first Croatian film to be screened at Cannes since the country's independence in 1991. The film was selected as the Croatian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards but it was not nominated.
Trap is a 2015 Filipino drama film directed by Brillante Mendoza and starring Nora Aunor, Julio Diaz, Lou Veloso and Aaron Rivera. Taklub centers on the survivors in the aftermath of the Super Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the central part of the Philippines, especially Tacloban, Leyte and how they picked up their lives a year after the typhoon. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. At Cannes it won a commendation awarded by the Ecumenical Jury.
