The Nairobi Province Cricket Association is the Affiliate of Cricket Kenya responsible for cricketing activities in the City of Nairobi. These include overseeing the Kenya Kongonis, and Kanbis Tigers franchises in the East Africa Premier League and East Africa Cup cricket tournaments. It administers the Nairobi Province Cricket League which, prior to the setting up of national cricket Leagues by Cricket Kenya, provided the bulk of players selected to the Kenya national cricket team. It is through delegates selected by Annual General Meetings convened by the provincial bodies such as NPCA, that Cricket Kenya's picks its own officials. [1]

Cricket Kenya

Cricket Kenya is the official ICC recognised organisation chosen to represent Kenya in terms of cricket issues. They are in charge of overseeing the Kenyan Cricket Team. Cricket Kenya organizes two six team regional tournaments in the T20 and 50 Over formats of the game to replace the defunct Sahara Elite League. These are the East Africa Cup and Premier League. Cricket Kenya organizes the Kenya national cricket team and conducts the international matches with the team.

The East Africa Premier League (EAPL) is a Twenty20 cricket competition covering Kenya and Uganda. The EAPL was founded in 2011, together with the East Africa Cup, in the wake of Kenya's disastrous performance in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It comprises 4 Kenyan provincial franchises as well as 2 teams from Uganda that play each over in a league, culminating in a final between the team that finishes top of the log and the winner of a series of playoff matches. Its main objective is to improve the standard of cricket played in Kenya, and spark a revival on the international stage once again.

Kenya national cricket team

The Kenya national cricket team represents the Republic of Kenya in international cricket. Kenya is an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has Twenty20 International (T20I) status after the ICC granted T20I status to all of their members.

Currently the NPCA is experiencing some differences with the teams in the region to a point where the teams started invitational T20 tournament and 50 Over league matches.

Alex Obanda Ouma is an international Kenyan cricketer who has played first class cricket for Kenya Select.

Tom Jones Tikolo is a former Kenyan cricketer. He captained Kenya in 22 ICC Trophy games, more than anyone else. Despite that, he only played in one first class match, although he did well, scoring 79 in one innings. After ending his playing career, Tikolo became the development officer for East Africa. In 2005, he was named as the new CEO of Cricket Kenya and also as a national selector. Tikolo is the brother of cricketers David and Steve Tikolo.

Elijah Otieno Asoyo is a Kenyan cricketer. A right arm medium-fast bowler, Otieno is a former Kenyan under-19 representative.

The Sahara Elite League was a four team cricket competition created by Cricket Kenya featuring a Twenty20 tournament, a one day cricket tournament and finally a three-day cricket tournament. For the inaugural league four teams will be competing consisting of the 60 best players according to Cricket Kenya from Kenya.

Cricket is a popular sport in Kenya. Kenya has competed in the Cricket World Cup since 1996. They upset some of the World's best teams and reached semi-finals of the 2003 tournament. They also won the inaugural World Cricket League Division 1 hosted in Nairobi and participated in the World T20. Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club

The Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club also abbreviated as Kenya Kongonis, is a Kenyan domestic cricket club based in the Nairobi Club Ground, Nairobi. Founded in 1927, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious cricket clubs in Kenya. It takes part in the Nairobi-based NPCA Leagues and in the national cricket tournaments such as the East African tournaments, run by Cricket Kenya.

Lucas Oluoch Ndandason is a Kenyan cricketer. Domestically, he previously represented Nairobi Gymkhana Club, but from the 2011 season, he is playing for Coast Pekee in the East African tournaments.

The Kenya national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Kenya in international cricket matches. Kenya was part of the East Africa cricket team which became an associate member of the ICC in 1966, and competed in the first World Cup. William Luwagga Kamanyi is a former Ugandan long jumper, cricket player, and sports coach. He represented Uganda at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and the 1964 Summer Olympics, and later coached the Ugandan national cricket team.
