Naked Remedy are a British psychedelic blues duo formed in Worcestershire, England. The current line-up consists of [1] Dave Small (Vocals/Drums) and Tom Callinswood (Guitar/Effects). They performed at Forum Live at the LG Arena Birmingham before Paul Weller took to the main stage in November 2010. [2]

Background

Naked Remedy formed from the ashes of AurA [3] after lead singer Dave Small together with Tom Callinswood with Nav Sahota and Jack Ryland-Smith found themselves playing together regularly at local jam sessions, the four discovered that they could improvise and invent music together for hours. Much of their reputation has been built on the strength and spontaneity of their live show.[ citation needed ]

The band won Worcester's Got Talent in October 2009 winning first prize of £2,500, [4] [5] and recorded a 4 track EP of original material apart from a version of "You Got the Love"; Naked Remedy have also performed for many local charities including Wyrefest 2009 [6] for The Proton Effect, [7] Help For Heroes, Loaded 2010, Boozestock 2009 [8] and a Help for Haiti fundraiser. They also appeared live at the world's largest VW Camper Van Event Vanfest in 2010[ citation needed ] and again in 2011. [9] In 2012 they appeared on the Jubilee stage at the annual Glastonbudget festival.

Past individual achievements of band members include sharing the bill with Velvet Revolver, Status Quo, Jeff Healey, Walter Trout, Chicken Shack, Wishbone Ash, Hayseed Dixie and Rose Hill Drive, and bookings at The Royal Albert Hall and Download Festival 2008. They have recently[ when? ] supported Goldray, [10] a group featuring Kenwyn House (Reef) and Paul Winterhart (Kula Shaker).

Naked Remedy have appeared on BBC Introducing with Andrew Marston [11] They also headlined The Hereford & Worcester Introducing Stage to launch the start of the Worcester Music Festival in August 2010 [12] [13]

Studio recording

In between the visceral dissonance of live performance, the band found time to record their debut self-titled, [14] which sold out within three months.[ citation needed ]

Smith became better known after appearing on the third series of Britain's Got Talent in 2009 and finished in third place behind singer Susan Boyle and winning dance troupe Diversity.

Bad Lieutenant was an English alternative rock supergroup formed following the second breakup of New Order. The band consisted of then-former New Order members Bernard Sumner and Phil Cunningham as well as Rambo & Leroy's Jake Evans.

The Arcadian Kicks were an indie rock band from Kinver in South Staffordshire, who formed in 2006. They have described their sound as "Spectoresque, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin... a bit of light shoegaze and Yeah Yeah Yeahs mixed up". They finished recording their debut album, Making Lovers, in 2010.

Imicus are a British five-piece rock/metal band based in and around Luton and London, England. The band released their debut album Animal Factory via Transcend Records in May 2010. A single "The Marionette" followed in 2011 via a limited edition release. On 7 August the band announced the worldwide release of a new single 'The Libertine' on 26 September 2014. Beatbullyz was a musical group from the Swindon area of England. The group was influenced by hip hop, ska, funk, soul, and big beat. The band was fronted by Daniel Dubose (Bozo) and Andrew Bullimore (Bully), both of whom created the music. The group was on the roster of Big Weekend Records, Bullimore's record label. The Beatbullyz street team was known as "The Minotaurs".

Films of Colour are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2008 at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Essex, England. They originally started gigging under the name of Spires but as there were other bands already established by this name, they later changed their name to Films of Colour. After seeing them at their second gig, they were taken under the wing of Phil Catchpole where he developed their sound and put them in the studio and finally on tour with Cage the Elephant. Paul Carey joined the band as a Co-Manager in 2009, but when Phil Catchpole left in 2010, Paul Carey continued on and took command as their sole manager. On 4 October 2010, the band released their first single "Actions" with the B-side "Circles" (both produced/mixed by Duncan "Pixie" Mills. The single was released digitally and on limited edition 7" Vinyl by Fierce Panda’s sister label – Label Fandango. The band's sound were compared to acts such as Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay, early Bloc Party and Swedish act – Miike Snow. Simon Williams, head of Fierce panda described the band "as the best band he's signed since Radiohead and Coldplay". Picked up as The Guardian’s New Band of the Day, Best of Myspace Winners, The Independent newspaper’s Barometer: One to Watch and Steve Lamacq’s Favourite New Band. There was radio support from 6 Music, Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 2 as well as holding the number 1 spot for two weeks on Amazing Radio

This Wicked Tongue is a self-published independent rock band formed in March 2010, in Worcester, England. The band has supported Van Morrison, Athlete, Toploader and Dodgy at major regional festivals and events in the English West Midlands. Band members are Christina Maynard ; Haydn Rogers ; Rob Taylor (bass); and Ryan Lerigo-Jones (drums). Previous drummers include James Allin and Ben Pemberton.

Joseph Summers is an English songwriter and musician. Originally from Walsall, he is now based in Cheltenham, where he has developed his sound, following in the footsteps of and sharing stages with some of his favourite artists, such as Steve Winwood on his recent European tour. Summers has also recently supported Britpop group The Lightning Seeds; Frank Turner and Fyfe Dangerfield.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Peace (band)</span> English indie rock band

Peace are an English indie rock band, formed in Worcester. The band currently consists of brothers Harry and Sam Koisser. The band began to receive critical acclaim in early 2012, from publications such as The Guardian and NME, who compared them to The Maccabees, Foals, Wu Lyf and Vampire Weekend. They were considered part of the B-Town movement, along with bands such as Swim Deep, Jaws and Superfood.
