Nana Best is a special compilation album featuring the combined words of Anna Tsuchiya and Olivia used in the first season of the Nana anime . The album was released in two versions, CD+DVD and the low priced CD only version. The albums were released only one month after the release of two full-albums dedicated solely to one singer each's work for the anime respectively. The first press of the CD+DVD version includes a special Nana mouse pad as well as a "skeleton"-style sleeve package. The best album features five tracks that solely appear on the best album, namely "Stand By Me" - the fifth ED theme for Nana by Anna Tsuchiya, Tsuchiya's cover of the Sex Pistols`s Anarchy in the U.K., a "Studio Live Version" of Tsuchiya's Lucy, a new song from Olivia called "Nothing's Gonna Take My Love" and finally a live recording of the song "Recorded Butterflies" by Olivia. The DVD features all of the opening and ending sequences used in Nana without credits overtop of them, as well as four "original animation" clips set to music throughout the show. This album was released one week before the airing of the final episode of the first season of the Nana anime.

Nana is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa. First published as a two-part prologue in Shueisha's monthly shōjo manga magazine Cookie in 1999, Nana was later serialized in the same magazine from May 2000 to May 2009, before going on indefinite hiatus. Its chapters have been collected in 21 tankōbon volumes. The series centers on Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu, two women who move to Tokyo at the age of 20, with the story focused on Nana O.'s pursuit for fame and Nana K.'s pursuit for romance, all while struggling to maintain their friendship.
Hideto Takarai, known by his stage name Hyde, is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. Best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel since 1991, he is also the lead vocalist of Vamps and has a solo career.

Ayumi Miyazaki, also credited as Ayumi (アユミ), is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Miyazaki has sung several songs in the Digimon series. He sang the evolution theme song for Digimon Adventure called "Brave Heart" and its Digimon Adventure Tri and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna remixes. He also sang the two evolution theme songs for Digimon Adventure 02, called "Break Up" and "Beat Hit!" In addition, he sang the second evolution theme for Digimon Frontier, called "The Last Element". Moreover, he collaborated with other Digimon song artists in Yūki o Uketsugu Kodomotachi e and "WE ARE Xros Heart! ver. X7". He also sang the theme song for Mushrambo, called "Power Play".
Olivia Lufkin, known professionally as Olivia, is a Japanese-American singer and songwriter. Lufkin began her solo career after singing in the Japanese girl group D&D. She gained mainstream success in 2006 after creating songs for the fictional band Trapnest under the alias "Olivia Inspi' Reira (Trapnest)." The songs were used for the popular anime adaptation of Nana.

Nana 2 is a 2006 Japanese drama film directed by Kentarō Ōtani and adapted from the manga by Ai Yazawa. It is the sequel to the 2005 film Nana. Production for the movie began in mid-September and only one and a half month shootings finished the movie in time for the December 9, 2006 release.
"Wish/Starless Night" is Olivia's 10th single, and is her second single to be released under the name Olivia Lufkin Inspired by Reira (Trapnest). It was released on CD and CD&DVD on October 11, 2006. The two title tracks were recorded specifically for the Nana anime. "Wish" was used as the second opening theme and "Starless Night" was used as the second ending theme to the show. "Wish/Starless Night" is currently Olivia's highest debuting single, at #7 on the Oricon weekly charts.
Strip Me? is the debut studio album by Japanese recording artist Anna Tsuchiya. A CD+DVD version of the album was released that included all of Tsuchiya's music videos released prior to the album, as well as the documentary SING or DIE.

It spent six weeks in the Oricon singles chart, reaching #7 on 22 January 2007. The song was used as an ending theme to the anime-adaption of the Japanese manga Nana. It was Tsuchiya's second single used in the series, the first being "Rose".
Olivia Inspi' Reira (Trapnest), is the third album by Japanese singer-songwriter Olivia Lufkin. It was released on February 28, 2007 and features original songs and singles from the anime, Nana, for which she serves as the song vocal-cast of Reira of Trapnest. It includes two live versions of "A Little Pain" and "Wish" in addition to a previously unpublished song.
