The Hayward Hall of Justice is an Alameda County Superior Court building,located in Hayward,California. It is located in a complex of buildings which includes the Hayward Police Department,Hayward Unified School District offices,and the Hayward jail. On June 16,2015,shortly after midnight,five Irish J-1 visa students and one Irish-American died and seven others were injured after a balcony on which they were standing collapsed. The group was celebrating a 21st birthday party in Berkeley,California. The balcony was on the 5th floor of an apartment building at 2020 Kittredge Street in Berkeley,then called Library Gardens. The district attorney of Alameda County launched a criminal probe into the incident. In January 2022,one of the injured died from a stroke related to the injuries.

The Nets–Raptors rivalry is a National Basketball Association (NBA) rivalry between the Brooklyn Nets and the Toronto Raptors. Both teams play in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The rivalry started to get intense in the 2000s,the starting point being in 2004,when All-Star Vince Carter got traded to the Nets. The two teams didn't meet in the playoffs until 2007,where the Nets defeated the Raptors,4–2. They then met again in 2014,where the Nets beat the Raptors again,but this time in seven games. Six years later,the two teams met again in the playoffs,but this time,the Raptors swept the Nets in four games. The Raptors have a 69–56 advantage against the Nets,and have the longest winning streak,which is 12 games from January 6,2016 to March 23,2018.
The Alameda County,California Women's Hall of Fame has existed since 1993. It is overseen by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors,and members of the "Commission on the Status of Women". Nomination categories include athletes,community builders,youth,environmentalists,philanthropy. The Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore has produced a number of inductees in the science and engineering fields. Many of the inductees listed here are in law enforcement,or legal assistance careers. Their website claims in excess of 250 inductees. The list includes community builders from a wide spectrum of cultural backgrounds. Ceremonies to announce the latest class of inductees usually occurs in the spring of every year.
Sarah Zeinab Chan is a South Sudanese former professional basketball player and lead scout in Africa for the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Toronto Raptors,who grew up as a refugee in Kenya. She is the first woman to scout for an NBA team in Africa. She is also the founder of Home At Home/Apediet Foundation,a non-governmental organization that combats child marriage and advocates sports and education for girls. In 2022,Chan was named to the BBC 100 Women list.
Pamela Price is an American lawyer and,since January 2023,the District Attorney for Alameda County,California. She is the first African-American woman to ever serve as Alameda County's DA. She supports progressive legislative reforms and ran on police accountability and rehabilitation. She is facing a recall effort.
