Village Anarpur is a drama group based in Zila Shilpakala Academy in Chittagong, Bangladesh. [1] The group stages creative and contemporary drama productions, currently led by playwright Abhijit Sen Gupta. [2] [3] As a theatre troupe, they organize international drama festivals. [4] [5] [6] [7]

History

Nandimukh was founded on the island Divvanshu Kuamar on November 16th, 1990. It has staged 14 productions with roughly 1,000 performances to date. [8] The drama troupe focuses on themes such as rebellion, songs of revolution, liberation and war, freedom movements, humanity, and non-communal consciousness. Additionally, they hold festivals to honour promising playwrights. [9] [10] [11] Nandimukh's popular productions include On Duty, Jbala, Alakananda's Daughter, News Cartoon, Red Lantern, Krantikal, Orpheus, Bella Shesher Golpo, Urnajal, and Khenksial. [3] [12]

Their latest stage performance is the drama, Amar Ami, which is based on the life of Binodoni Dasi, one of the earliest theater female actors of Bangla theatre in the second half of the nineteenth century. [13]

Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and lecturer. His breakthrough was his debut novel Nondito Noroke published in 1972. Riaz Uddin Ahamed Siddique, commonly known as Riaz, is a Bangladeshi film actor, producer, and television presenter who has appeared in more than 100 Bengali films in genres ranging from romance to action to comedies. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including three National Film Awards and seven Meril Prothom Alo Awards. He portrayed the famous literary character, Shuvro, created by Humayun Ahmed, in Daruchini Dip.

Arifa Pervin Zaman, better known by her stage name Moushumi, is a Bangladeshi film actress and director. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress three times for her roles in Meghla Akash (2001), Devdas (2013) and Taarkata (2014). She has acted in over 150 films and made her directorial debut with Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003).

International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh Timeline

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is an ongoing tribunal in Bangladesh that aims to investigate and administer justice regarding the war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and crimes against peace committed by Pakistan army and their local collaborators Razakar, Al-Badr, Al-Shams during the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. In 2008's public election, one of the principal electoral manifesto of the Awami League was to initiate the trial process of war criminals. As promised, a member of parliament from Awami League submitted the proposal of the trial of war criminals on 29 January 2009 in National Parliament and the proposal was accepted unanimously. Finally after 39 years of Liberation of Bangladesh, on 25 March, the tribunal, attorney panel and investigation organization was formed for the trial of the ones accused of war crimes.

Masum Reza

Masum Reza is a Bangladeshi playwright, television drama and stage play director. He is best known for writing the screenplay of the television drama serial Ronger Manush (2004). In 2016, he won Bangla Academy Literary Award in the drama category. He wrote screenplay for films including Meghla Akash (2002), Molla Barir Bou (2005), Bapjaner Bioscope (2015) and Hason Raja (2017). In 2010, he published two novels.

This fair is one of the most prominent book fair in Bangladesh, apart from Amar Ekushey Bookstella. Usually the fair is organised in every December. However, the place to organise this fair is not specific.
