Nangpai Gosum (also known as 'Jasamba') [1] is a mountain in the Himalayas. Its official Nepali name is 'Pasang Lhamu', after the first Sherpani to summit Everest. [2]

It lies on the border between Nepal and China. The total elevation of the mountain is 24,114'.The first ascent to the summit was a Japanese expedition on October 12, 1986.

Its waters pour out under the ground but they appear on the surface 120 metres away from the lake and form the beginning of the Sinanishka River which is a left tributary of the Vlachina river.

For a period of several years, this mountain peak was referred to as Bald Mountain, but in 1917 it was changed to Ireland Mountain—in commemoration of the late Henry Ireland, who for 10 years was supervisor of the Whitman National Forest in which the mountain is located—before formally becoming known as Mount Ireland. The name change was brought about by a cooperative effort of local citizens and the US Forest Service to honor Henry Ireland, who had died in 1916.

There are many signature peaks in the White Cloud Mountains that are very obscure and rarely visited. The peak is located in Sawtooth National Recreation Area in Custer County 0.50 mi (0.80 km) south of Calkins Peak, its line parent. It is the 70th highest peak in Idaho and about 0.6 mi (0.97 km) north of D. O. Lee Peak. Cirque Lake is directly southeast of the peak, and Slide Lake is directly northeast of the peak.
