The Papua New Guinea men's national cricket team, nicknamed the Barramundis, is the team that represents the country of Papua New Guinea in international cricket. The team is organised by Cricket PNG, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1973. Papua New Guinea previously had One-Day International (ODI) status, which it gained by finishing fourth in 2014 World Cup Qualifier. Papua New Guinea lost both their ODI and T20I status in March 2018 after losing a playoff match against Nepal during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, a result that earned ODI and T20I status for their opponents. The tournament took place during 2015 to 2017. It ran in parallel with the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship, but with slightly different teams. As Ireland and Afghanistan had qualified for the ICC One Day International Championship ranking qualification process, they were replaced by Kenya and Nepal in the limited over event; however they continued to play the four-day event.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested by six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.
The 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier EAP was a cricket tournament that was held in Vanuatu in May 2019. The 2021–22 Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Nepal from 28 March to 4 April 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Nepal along with Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. The matches were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. On 12 March 2022, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed all the fixtures.
Semo Kamea is a Papua New Guinean cricketer. In March 2022, he was named in Papua New Guinea's One Day International (ODI) squads for both the 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series and 2022 Papua New Guinea Tri-Nation Series, as well as their ODI and Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the tour of Nepal.
The Papua New Guinea national cricket team is one of the associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), they are nicknamed as the Barramundis. Papua New Guinea qualified for their maiden T20 World Cup in 2021, after finishing as runners-up of the 2019 qualifier, the team failed to make it past the first round. They made their reappearance at the tournament in the 2024 edition. In two editions that they have participated, the team is yet to register a win in World Cup.
