Naomi Price is an Australian stage actress and singer, best known for appearing in the fourth season of the Australian version of The Voice , finishing in fifth place, and her roles in original cabarets Rumour Has It: Sixty Minutes Inside Adele [1] and Wrecking Ball [2]

History

Price moved from England to Australia to study at Queensland University of Technology in 2003. [3] Since moving to Brisbane, she appeared in numerous productions including Matilda Women and Tashi Stories for QUT, Into the Woods , Children of Eden , Alice , [4] The Awfully Big Adventures of Peter Pan, Rent , Tell Me on a Sunday and The Wishing Well for Matrix Theatre/La Boite Theatre. In 2007, Price played the role of Cathy in Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years co-starring The Voice Australia season 2 runner-up Luke Kennedy. She has performed alongside Guy Sebastian, Marina Prior, Troy Cassar-Daley and Broadway composer Scott Alan.

In August 2010 and June 2011, Price played Mary Magdalene in the critically acclaimed production of Jesus Christ Superstar [5] at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Playhouse.

Price founded the little red company with co-devisor Adam Brunes in 2012 and together they have created original cabarets Rumour Has It: Sixty Minutes Inside Adele and Wrecking Ball which have toured extensively around Australia. She recently made her debut with Queensland Theatre Company [6] in their 2014 production of Gloria . Price also auditioned for season 4 of The Voice Australia . She was mentored by Ricky Martin throughout the series and placed 6th overall. She is set to take part of the ensemble cast of a Carole King's hits-musical showcasing the US singer-songwriter's work, set to premiere in Brisbane. Price is an understudy for the role of Carole's friend and fellow songwriter Cynthia Weil. [7]

Glenn Thompson is an Australian musician who first came to prominence in Brisbane, Queensland, playing in the popular local bands Madam Bones Brothel with Pearly Black and John Rodgers, and COW with Robert Moore and David McCormack. Thompson played drums with Robert Forster of The Go-Betweens on his second solo album Calling from a Country Phone in 1993. He then toured Europe in 1994 with Forster and members of German band Baby You Know, Robert Pöschl and Michael Schott. For Robert Forster's world tour of 1996, Thompson was joined by Adele Pickvance on bass. Anywhere Festival is an annual Brisbane based festival for performance anywhere but traditional theatre spaces. The first anywhere-but-in-a-traditional-theatre concept was brought to Brisbane in 2011 by creative director Paul Osuch and his partner, Ally McTavish. The Cremorne Theatre was a theatre in South Brisbane, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that operated, with interruptions, from 1911 to 1954. Although nothing remains of it today, the general location retains its cultural significance from the first half of the twentieth century as a theatre precinct, thanks to the nearby construction of Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in 1985. Its name lives on in the new Cremorne Theatre, one of the venues within QPAC.

The Paisley Pirates of Penzance is a satirical theatre production originally performed at La Boite Theatre's late night cabaret La Bamba on 8–10 February 1985. The satire coincided with Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, the opening production of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's Lyric Theatre on 7 February 1985. The Paisley Pirates of Penzance was directed by David Pyle and Sean Mee.
