The Nepali Congress is the largest social democratic political party in Nepal. Dhyan Govinda Ranjit a.k.a. Dhyan Govinda Ranjitkar is a Nepalese politician and a leader of Nepali Congress. He is a member of Nepalese constituent assembly/Nepalese Parliament. Rabindra Prasad Adhikari was a Nepali politician and three time parliamentarian,belonging to the Nepal Communist Party (NCP). He was Minister of Culture,Tourism and Civil Aviation from 16 March 2018 until his death in a helicopter crash. He was the Kaski District secretary of the party. In the 2008 Constituent Assembly election,Adhikari was elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 13,386 votes. In the 2013 Constituent Assembly election,he was re-elected from the Kaski-3 constituency,with 15,456 votes. In 2017,CPN-UML candidate Rabindra Adhikari won parliamentary elections from Kaski Constituency No. 2. Representing the left alliance,Adhikari secured 27,207 votes to defeat Nepali Congress candidate Dev Raj Chalise,who got 18,661 votes. After his demise,his wife Bidya Bhattarai won Kaski Constituency-2 with a wide margin of 8,403 votes in the by-election. Bhattarai secured 24,394 votes while her nearest contender Khem Raj Poudel from main opposition Nepali Congress got 15,991. Likewise,Socialist Party's Dharma Raj Gurung got 1,922 votes. He authored the books Constituent Assembly,Democracy and Re-structuring.
Arjun Narasingha K.C. is a Nepali politician belonging to the Nepali Congress. KC was appointed minister five times in different coalition governments. He most served as the Minister of Urban Development in the Second Dahal Cabinet from 2016 to 2017. KC has been elected to the national legislature a total of three times from his constituency of Nuwakot.
General elections were held in Nepal in two phases on 26 November and 7 December 2017 to elect the 275 members of the fifth House of Representatives,the lower house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal. The election was held alongside the first provincial elections for the seven provincial assemblies. A political deadlock between the governing Nepali Congress and the winning left-wing coalition over the system used to elect the upper house led to delay in forming the new government. Following the announcement of final result by the Election Commission,K.P. Oli of Communist Party of Nepal was sworn in as Prime Minister on 15 February 2018 by the President according to Article 76 (2) of the constitution. He passed a Motion of Confidence on 11 March 2018 with 208 votes.
The Second Oli cabinet was the Government of Nepal from 15 February 2018 to 13 July 2021. It was initially formed as a majority coalition on 15 February 2018,after Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli was elected as the new Prime Minister of Nepal following the 2017 general election. Oli's candidacy was supported by the Communist Party of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal. He assumed his office along with two ministers with the remaining ministers added at later points. The CPN withdrew its support from the government in May 2021,reducing it to a minority,and after the dissolution of the House of Representatives,it turned into an interim government. The second Oli cabinet was replaced by the fifth Deuba cabinet,formed after the Supreme Court ordered the appointment of Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister under in accordance with Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Hari Narayan Prasad Sah Rauniyar is a Nepali politician and former member of the Nepal House of Representatives. He was elected from Parsa-3 constituency in the 2017 elections,representing Federal Socialist Forum. He was charged with corruption and automatically suspended from parliament in October 2018,after the Commission for Investigation of the Abuse of Authority filed a case against him and 12 others over the negligence and embezzlement in the construction of the Babai river bridge which had collapsed during construction in 2017. He is the former proprietor of Pappu Construction that was building the bridge under government contract.
Hit Bahadur Tamang is a Nepali politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. He was elected from Nuwakot-1 constituency representing CPN MC of the left alliance,defeating senior Nepali Congress leader,ex-finance minister Ram Saran Mahat. He was elected by a margin of 8,553 votes,receiving 36,473 votes to Mahat's 27,920. He had been a candidate from Nuwakot in both the constituent assembly elections of 2008 and 2013 but lost to Mahat both times.
Narayan Prasad Marasini is a Nepali communist politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. He was elected from Syangja-1 constituency defeating Raju Thapa of Nepali Congress by more than 10,000 votes. A long time member of CPN UML,he represents the newly formed Nepal Communist Party (NCP) following the merger of the party with CPN. He was also the candidate for CPN UML in Syangja-1 constituency in the second constituent assembly election,in 2013.
Padma Narayan Chaudhary (Tharu) is a Nepali politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the Federal parliament of Nepal. He was elected from Nepali Congress under the proportional representation system. Following his election to parliament,he was appointed the coordinator for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in the shadow cabinet of the main opposition Nepali Congress.
