Ataullah Mengal was a Pakistani politician and feudal figure. He was the head of the Mengal tribe until he nominated one of his grandsons, Sardar Asad Ullah Mengal, as his tribal successor. He was also the 1st Chief Minister of Balochistan during Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's premiership from 1 May 1972 to 13 February 1973. He died on 2 September 2021 in Karachi.
Haji Mohammad Alam Channa was a Pakistani farmer who was one of the tallest living people with the height of 7.8 feet (2.4 m). The Clifton Oyster Rocks are an archipelago of islets located off the coast of the Clifton neighbourhood of Karachi, in Sindh, the province of Pakistan. The islands were under the control of the Pakistani Navy until 2006, when the Karachi city government decided to include the island as part of its project to renovate the city. As part of this plan, the Port Fountain was constructed at the base of the northern island. It shoots water up to 620 feet (190 m) in the air, and was considered as the second-tallest fountain in the world at that time. There is a 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) long breakwater (structure) known as Oyster Rock Strip near the rocks built in 2015 with Chinese collaboration as a part of Pakistan Deep Water Container Port (PDWCP) Project under marine protection work. It was constructed to guard the South Asia Pakistan Terminal from sea tides and costal erosion.
Allah Bux Muhammad Umar Soomro, or Allah Baksh Soomro, was a zamindar, government contractor, Indian independence activist and politician from the province of Sindh in colonial India. He is considered to be amongst the best premiers of the province, known for promoting Hindu-Muslim unity and campaigning for an independent, united India. He was referred to as Shaheed or "martyr".

Arshad Sharif was a Pakistani journalist, writer, and news anchor. A 592-page report by the Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) revealed the killing to be a “planned targeted assassination," claiming that Kenyan police were "used as instruments." He was an outspoken critic of the Pakistani army.
Muhammad Ayaz Soomro was a Pakistani politician and lawyer, who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, from June 2013 to March 2018. Previously he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2002 to 2007 and again from 2008 to 2013. During his second tenure as member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, he served in the cabinet of Sindh as provincial minister in various positions.

On 23 October 2015, twenty-three people were killed and several others were wounded when a suicide bomber targeted a procession of Shia Muslims marking Ashoura in Jacobabad, Sindh. At least five children are among the dead. The bombing also injured at least 32 people.

The virus was confirmed to have reached Pakistan on 26 February 2020, when two cases were recorded. On 18 March 2020, cases had been registered in all four provinces, the two autonomous territories, and Islamabad Capital Territory, and by 17 June, each district in Pakistan had recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID-19.
Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 was a scheduled domestic flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. On 22 May 2020, the Airbus A320 crashed into Model Colony, a densely populated residential area of Karachi only a few kilometres from the runway, while on a second approach after a failed landing attempt with landing gear not extended.
