Nathan Bowden (born 2 April 1993) is a South Australian former representative rower. He was an Australian national champion and represented at the 2017 World Rowing Championships.
Bowden was raised in South Australia. His senior club rowing was initially from the Adelaide Rowing Club, the University of South Australia at the varsity level [1] and then when he was in senior Australian representative squads from Sydney Rowing Club. [2]
Bowden made his state representative debut for South Australia in the 2011 youth eight which contested the Noel Wilkinson Trophy at the annual Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. [3] The following year he stepped up into the South Australian men's senior eight to contest the King's Cup at the Interstate Regatta. [4] He was back in the South Australian youth eight in 2013, then rowed in further South Australian King's Cup eights in 2014 (silver), [5] 2015 (bronze), [6] 2016 (bronze), [7] 2017 (bronze), [8] 2018 and 2019. [9]
Bowden made his Australian representative debut in 2011 when he was selected in the coxless four to race at the 2011 Junior World Rowing Championships at Eton Dorney. That crew placed thirteenth overall. [10]
In early 2014 World Rowing Cup I was held in Sydney and Bowden was vying for selection in the Australian senior squad. All the Australian sweep oarsmen contested events in small boats and Bowden's coxless pair finished fifth in their final. Also at that regatta he raced in the #2 Australian eight which finished fourth. [10] At the 2016 World University Championships in Poznan, Bowden raced as Australia's coxless pair with Angus Moore. They won a bronze medal. [11]
In 2017 he made the Australian senior squad and was competing for a seat in the men's eight during the European racing season. He was in the two seat of the eight when they finished in 4th place at World Rowing Cup II. Then at WRC III he raced in a coxed pair with Ben Coombs and James Rook to a silver medal and also in a coxless pair to 13th place. Bowden was back in the Australian men's eight when they finished eight at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. [10]
In 2018 Bowden made another senior squad appearance in an Australian #2 men's coxless four when they rowed in the heat and repechage at World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne. [10] It was his final Australian representative showing, although he travelled with the squad to the World Championships that year as the sweep reserve. [12]

Olympia Aldersey is an Australian rower. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and was a 2019 World Champion in the coxless four. In 2014 she set a world's fastest ever time (6:37.31) in a women's double scull over 2000m, a record which has stood since. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Michael McBryde is an Australian former lightweight rower. He was a national champion, an U23 World Champion and a medallist at senior World Championships.
Spencer Alf Turrin is an Australian representative rower. He is a national champion, twice world champion, a dual Olympian and an Olympic champion. He competed and won medals in the Australian senior men's coxless four at every World Rowing Championship from 2013 to 2018, culminating in consecutive world championship gold at Sarasota 2017 and 2018 Plovdiv. He rowed in the two seat of the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Alexander Hill is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian, an Olympic gold and silver medallist and was the 2017 and 2018 world champion in the coxless four. He stroked the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Molly Goodman is an Australian rower. She is a national champion, a dual Olympian and a world champion winning the 2017 world title in a coxless four. She stroked the Australian eight to victory in the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta. She stroked the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Joshua Hicks is an Australian representative rower. He is an Olympian and a two-time world champion who won gold in the coxless four at the 2017 World Rowing Championships and defended that title at Plovdiv in 2018. He competed in the Australian men's coxless pair at Tokyo 2021.
Jack Hargreaves is an Australian representative rower and a world and an Olympic champion. He won consecutive world championships in the coxless four at the 2017 World Rowing Championships, then successfully defended that title at 2018 Plovdiv. He rowed in the three seat of the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Katrina Werry is an Olympian and Australian national and two-time world champion rower. At the 2017 World Rowing Championships, she became world champion in the women's coxless four with Lucy Stephan, Sarah Hawe, and Molly Goodman. She regained that coxless four world championship title in 2019. She won the Remenham Challenge Cup at the 2018 Henley Royal Regatta in the Australian women's eight. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Fergus Pragnell is an Australian former rower. He is a seven-time Australian King's Cup winner, an U23 World Champion and a medallist at senior World Championships.
Angus Moore is an Australian former representative rower. He was a three-time King's Cup winner, medalled at underage and senior world rowing championships and in 2018 won the Grand Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta in an Australian eight.
Timothy Masters is an Australian rower. He is a national champion, a representative and silver medallist at World Championships, and a three-time silver medallist at World Rowing U23 Championships. He rowed in the Australian men's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Robert Black is an Australian rower. He is a national champion, a national representative in sculling and sweep-oared boats and twice an U23 World Champion.
Annabelle McIntyre is an Australian national representative rower. She is an Olympic champion, a multiple Australian national champion and won medals at the 2019 World Rowing Championships and 2018 World Championships. She was selected as a 2021 Tokyo Olympian and doubled-up, racing both the Australian coxless pair and the coxless four. In the four she stroked the Australian crew to a gold medal victory.
Joseph "Jack" O'Brien is an Australian representative rower. He is an Australian national champion, has represented and won a silver medal at senior world championships and has won several gold medals at World Rowing Cups. He rowed in the Australian men's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Bronwyn Cox is an Australian representative, national champion and Olympic rower. She was a silver medallist at the 2019 World Championships and won gold and silver medals at Rowing World Cups in the 2019 international representative season. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
