National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) is the regulator of Nigerian colleges of education. [1] [2] It formulates National Policy framework for the full development of teacher education and training of teachers. NCCE defines minimum standards for all programmes of teacher education and accredit their certificates and other academic awards. [3] [4]

NCCE was established by Decree 13 of 1989 to supervise all aspects of non-degree teacher education and teacher professionalism in Nigeria. On 1 January 1993, Decree No.12 amended the establishment Decree No.13 of 1989 introducing changes to the commission. Establishment of NCCE is based on the philosophy of National Policy on Education (NAPE) which postulates that “no education can rise above the quality of its teachers.”  In 2018, Nigerian Senate proposed a change of NCCE’s name to National Commission for Teachers Education (NCTE). NCCE’s day-to-day administration is headed by an executive secretary appointed by the president on the recommendation of Education Minister. [6] [7] The highest decision making body of NCCE is the governing board headed by a chairman [8] and secretary (which is the executive secretary of the commission) and members. The board members are representatives of federal ministries, institutions and professional organisations which include Federal Ministries of Education and Finance,  Federal Colleges of Education (Technical), Federal Colleges of Education (Conventional), State Colleges of Education, Federal Universities (Conventional), Universities of Technology, Nigerian Academy of Education and  Nigerian Union of Teachers.

Commission for Academic Accreditation UAE government agency

The Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) is the UAE Federal Government Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. Working collaboratively with relevant national and local authorities in the Emirates, the CAA has a key leadership role in securing and developing the quality of higher education in the UAE. As a matter of the highest priority, it sets out to safeguard academic standards, and to assure and enhance the quality of learning opportunities provided for students in UAE's higher education institutions (HEIs). It undertakes licensure of HEIs in the UAE and accreditation of their award-bearing academic programs. These Degree ranges from level 5-10 as per National Qualification Framework of UAE.

Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka is a Nigerian technical tertiary institution located in Akoka, a suburb of Yaba in Lagos. Founded in 1967 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the institution was founded with the aim of "grooming and producing teachers in technical, vocational and commercial academic disciplines". The Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka is approved by the National Universities Commission and offers the award of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and undergraduate first degree courses in technology education, having affiliated to the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo was established on 5 October 1977 as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualified Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of handicapped students that could be found in any Higher institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. The Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission is a specialised agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria, established through the Nigerian Investment Promotion Act Chapter N117 of 2004. This commission's objective is to promote, encourage, and coordinate all investments in Nigeria.
