National Organization for Passive Defense

The National Organization for Passive Defense is an Iranian government bureau for civil defense. It was approved in August 2023. [1] It will arm and defend the infrastructure from biologic, cyber, nuclear, electronic, chemical warfare and the CBRNE threat. [2]

Contents

It works mainly with Iranian corporations and government departments and Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Industry, and Iranian Armed Forces. [3] [4]

It consists of a high commission council and is financed by both the government and private corporations. [5] [6]

Bahman Reyhani is an Iranian commander. On June 20, 2014, he was appointed as the commander of the Kermanshah Nebi Akram Corps, a Kurdish force in the IRGC located in Kermanshah province, based on the order of Mohammad Ali Jafari, the commander of the IRGC at the time, in a ceremony attended by Hossein Salami, the deputy commander of the IRGC at the time. A water transfer project to the central Iranian plateau has been developed by the Iranian government. The program is to bring water from the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf after desalination to 7 to 16 Iranian provinces. It will take drinking water to Sistan and Baluchistan cities water network by 2024. Its current budget is as of 2021 around $285 billion. Around 3700 kilometer pipe has been laid for the program. There are three phases for the program, phase 4 has been added. 190 corporations are share holders. Phase 1 has been put operational.

The Iranian government budget for financial year of 2024-2025 was developed in November 2023. It is the first budget on seventh quinquennal development program with total spending becoming 2462000 billion. Oil budget is reduced %6. The budget is high deficit.
