National Planning Commission of Namibia

The National Planning Commission of Namibia is an agency of the Namibian government responsible for planning national priorities and directing the course of national development. The commission is chaired by a Director-General, and includes the Ministers of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, Finance, Trade and Industry, Works and Transport, Regional and Local Government, and Housing and Rural Development, plus eight other people with knowledge and experience of development in economic, social, ecological or other related fields. Directors General have included Saara Kuugongelwa, appointed in 1995 [2] and Helmut Angula, appointed in 2005. [3] As of 19 March 2015, Tom Alweendo was Minister in Presidency in charge of the National Planning Commission and also Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism. [4]

Hidipo Livius Hamutenya was a Namibian politician. A long time leading member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), Hamutenya was a member of the Cabinet of Namibia from independence in 1990 to 2004, serving in several important ministerial portfolios. He was defeated in a bid for the party's presidential nomination in 2004 and left SWAPO to form an opposition group, the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP), in 2007. He was elected to the National Assembly of Namibia with RDP in the 2009 general election. He was forced to step down as RDP president on 28 February 2015 and rejoined SWAPO on 28 August 2015.

Nahas Angula Third Prime Minister of Namibia

Nahas Gideon Angula (born 22 August 1943 is a Namibian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of Namibia from 21 March 2005 to 4 December 2012. He was succeeded by Hage Geingob in a cabinet reshuffle after the 2012 SWAPO Party congress. He subsequently served as Minister of Defence from 2012 to 2015.

Saara Kuugongelwa Prime Minister of Namibia

Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila is the Prime Minister of Namibia, in office since 21 March 2015. Kuugongelwa-Amadhila is a member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO). She has been a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since 1995 and served as Minister of Finance from 2003 to 2015. She is the first woman to serve as Prime Minister of Namibia.

Lempy Lucas Namibian politician

Lempy Lucas, also: Lukas, is a Namibian politician. A member of the National Assembly from 2000 until 2015, Lucas is a member of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO). She has held a number of Deputy Minister positions in Namibia's government, she currently is Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry. She had previously been a SWAPO Party Youth League activist.

The Cabinet of Namibia is an appointed body that was established by Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Namibia. It is mandated to include the following positions: the President of Namibia, the Prime Minister of Namibia and any positions that the President so appoints.

Eddie Shimwethelini Amkongo is a Namibian civil servant and diplomat. A chief diplomat with SWAPO and later independent Namibia, Amkongo was appointed chairperson of the Public Service Commission in 2006.

Mukwanangombe Auguste Mukwahepo Immanuel affectionately known as Meekulu Mukwahepo was a Namibian guerrilla, notable for being the first woman recruit of the People's Liberation Army of Namibia. Mukwahepo committed her life looking after children during the South African Border War, moving from one camp to another whenever the need arose.
