Nawa Nepal Prajatantrik Dal ('New Nepal Democratic Party') is a political party in Nepal. The party got 3016 votes in the Proportional Representation vote in the 2008 Constituent Assembly election, being the least voted party in the election. [2] The party had two candidates in the First Past the Post vote, Santosh Raut (37 years) in Kathmandu-1 and Santosh Bahadur Shahi (33 years) in Lalitpur-3. Raut got 20 votes and Shahi 14 votes. [3]

2008 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election election

A general election for the Constituent Assembly was held in Nepal on 10 April 2008 after having been postponed from earlier dates of 7 June 2007 and 22 November 2007. The Nepalese Constituent Assembly will draft a new constitution; it will therefore decide, amongst other things, on the issue of federalism. The number of eligible voters was around 17.5 million. The Constituent Assembly will have a term of two years.

Binod Kumar Shah is a Nepalese politician. In the 1994 election he was elected to the Pratinidhi Sabha as the candidate of the Nepal Workers Peasants Party from the Dailekh-2 constituency. Shah won with 13640 votes against 6725 votes for Ranga Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Congress. Shah later joined the Communist Party of Nepal along with his entire team in the districts of Bheri and Karnali zones, which caused a rift between NWPP and CPN(UML). In July 2005, he was appointed Assistant Minister for Water Resource by King Gyanendra. Now, he has been engaging in politics of Nepal being an active member of Nepal Communist Party.

Shankar Pokharel is th first Chief Minister of Province No. 5, one of seven federal states in Nepal.He was elected as the central secretary of Communist Party of Nepal from 1998 to 2008. He was also appointed as Minister for Information and Communications. He has also worked as Kathmandu Valley Committee member of CPN-UML. Pokhrel was elected as Member of Parliament in the legislative election of 1994 from Dang–3. In 2008, he was inducted to the CA via PR system. The Federal Socialist Forum, Nepal was a democratic socialist political party in Nepal. The party was formed on 15 June 2015 from the merger of the Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum, Nepal, the Federal Socialist Party Nepal and the Khas Samabeshi Party. Trilochan Bhatta is a Nepalese politician and current Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Pradesh, a province in far-western Nepal. He was unanimously selected Parliamentary Party leader of Communist Party of Nepal for Sudurpaschim pradesh on 12 February, 2018. He was appointed as the chief minister, according to Article 168 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal and took the oath of his office and secrecy as a chief minister on 17 February 2018.
