Omkar Prasad Nayyar was an Indian film music composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, and musician. He is considered to be one of the most rhythmic and melodious music directors of the Hindi film industry. He won the 1958 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for Naya Daur. Nayyar worked extensively with singers Geeta Dutt, Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi, though not with leading Bollywood female singer Lata Mangeshkar.
Chaudhvin Ka Chand is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language Muslim social film directed by Mohammed Sadiq. This film was a super-hit at box-office, and became one of the top-grossing films of 1960. A production of Guru Dutt, the film centers on a love triangle between Guru Dutt, Rehman and Waheeda Rehman, and features music by Ravi. After the disastrous box office performance of Kaagaz Ke Phool, Guru Dutt had to stick back to the idea of producing a commercial project along with an experimental project to protect his studio from ruins. The next commercial venture by the studio was Chaudhvin ka Chand, which was a huge commercially successful comeback film for Guru Dutt, which saved Guru Dutt's production studio from ruins.

The famous song "Mere Mehboob Tujhe Mere" was shot in the University Hall and in a couple of places, one gets to see the University. The opening scene of the movie shows the famous residential hall and the associated clock tower; "Victoria Gate".
Hum Dono is a 1961 Hindi film produced by Dev Anand and Navketan films. Amarjeet is credited as the film's director, but producer and star Dev Anand claimed that it was his brother Vijay Anand, who directed the film, based on his own script. The film stars Dev Anand in a double role, and also has Sadhana, Nanda and Leela Chitnis. It has been relaunched in colour after exactly 50 years on 4 February 2011. The film is also known for its music by Jaidev and became a box office hit. The movie was later made in Telugu as Ramuni Minchina Ramudu with N. T. Rama Rao. Also a Bengali movie Uttarayan was made starring Uttam Kumar in the lead based on the novel by Tarashankar Bandopadhyay. Hum Dono's story is loosely based on Uttarayan. The movie is fondly remembered for its memorable lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi and music by Jaidev.
