Nazir Kashmiri was a prolific character actor in Hindi cinema who appeared in over 100 films. His career extended from 1941 [1] to 2008 spanning 67 years.
He started his career in Lahore. He appeared in several Lahore productions before moving to Bombay with Noor Jehan's production company. He appeared in Noor's Indian films Zeenat (1945) and Jugnu (1947).
Through the 1950s and 1960s he was frequently seen in a wide variety of roles. [2] Kashmiri was particularly a fixture of B. R. Chopra films appearing in most of Chopra's films from Ek Hi Raasta (1956) to Kaala Patthar (1979). Kashmiri was also seen in many Dev Anand, Guru Dutt and I. S. Johar films.
Noor Jehan, also known by her honorific title Malika-e-Tarannum, was a Pakistani playback singer and actress who worked first in British India and then in the cinema of Pakistan. Her career spanned more than six decades. She was renowned as one of the greatest and most influential singers of all time especially throughout South Asia and was given the honorific title of Malika-e-Tarannum in Pakistan. Baharo Phool Barsao, is a 1972 Pakistani Urdu-language romance film produced and directed by Indian director Mehmood Sadiq. He had come from India to produce and direct this film, but died halfway through its production. It was completed by the Pakistani film director Hassan Tariq. It cast Waheed Murad, Rani, Rukhsana, Munawar Zarif, Saiqa, Kamal Irani, Tamanna, Ilyas Kashmiri, Aslam Pervaiz and Sangeeta. The film is based on India's Lucknow culture.
