Nazrul Islam is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament of Mymensingh-3.
Islam was elected to parliament from Mymensingh-3 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1991. [1]
The Bangladesh Awami League,often simply called the Awami League or AL,is one of the major political parties in Bangladesh. The oldest existing political party in the country,Awami League successfully lead Bangladesh to the independence. One of the two most dominant parties in the country,along with its archrival Bangladesh Nationalist Party,it has been the ruling party since 2009,and has since been described as authoritarian.
Syed Nazrul Islam was a Bangladeshi politician and a senior leader of the Awami League. During the Bangladesh Liberation War,he was declared as the Vice President of Bangladesh by the Provisional Government. He served as the Acting President in the absence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He served as a Member of Parliament and Minister of Public Administration of the Government of Bangladesh.
