Ned LeDoux is an American country music singer and songwriter. He has released three studio albums. [1]

History

Ned LeDoux was born in Kaycee, Wyoming, also the hometown of his father, country music singer Chris LeDoux. The younger LeDoux began playing drums in his father's road band, Western Underground, in 1998. [2] LeDoux began recording solo material in 2015, working with producer Mac McAnally. His debut EP Forever a Cowboy came out in 2016. [3] LeDoux wrote four of the five songs on it. [4] Sagebrush, his first full-length album, followed in 2017. [3] On November 8, 2019, LeDoux released his 2nd studio album Next in Line. [5]

LeDoux also appears on Chase Rice's 2017 album Lambs & Lions , as a duet partner on a rendition of Chris LeDoux's "This Cowboy's Hat". [6]

Ned annually headlines Chris LeDoux Days, a town festival held in Kaycee, Wyoming honoring his father. [7]

Personal life

LeDoux is the son of singer-songwriter and rodeo champion Chris LeDoux. [8]

LeDoux is married to his wife Morgan. Their two-year-old daughter died of accidental choking in October 2019. [8]

<i>Western Underground</i> 1991 studio album by Chris LeDoux

Western Underground is the title of the major label debut album released by American country music artist Chris LeDoux for Liberty Records. Overall, it is his 23rd album. Although it produced no top 40 singles, the single "This Cowboy's Hat" would be covered by LeDoux's son, Ned LeDoux and Chase Rice for the latter's album Lambs & Lions. "Workin' Man's Dollar" and "Riding for a Fall" were also released as singles. The album peaked at #36 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Chris LeDoux was a rodeo cowboy who sang and recorded songs in his spare time and sold his albums from the back of his truck. With his father, he started his own record label, American Cowboy Songs, in 1970. Under that label he released 22 albums between 1971 and 1990. After gaining recognition from the 1989 Garth Brooks song, "Much Too Young " he was signed to Liberty Records, where he released 4 studio albums in four years. He released 6 more albums including a live album under Capitol Records. Horsepower in 2003 was his last studio album before his death in 2005. Nine official compilation albums have been released between 1994 and 2008. 20 Greatest Hits has been certified platinum by the RIAA.
