Nedry are an English three-piece band formed in London, England, in 2008. The band consists of Chris Amblin and Matt Parker, on guitars, laptops and synthesizers and Ayu Okakita on vocals. The band has released two albums, Condors, [1] released in 2010, and In a Dim Light , released in 2012.
The three-piece originally formed in Spring of 2008, although Ayu Okakita was not available for any of the live performances in 2008 due to her involvement with a further project based in Berlin. Chris Amblin and Matt Parker worked together creating instrumental music, performing together for the first time at Truck Festival in Oxford in 2008. They first performed under the name Nedry (a name which was influenced by Dennis Nedry, the technician from Jurassic Park ) [2] later that year in London. Ayu Okakita settled permanently back in London in January 2009 and continued to work with the band. Nedry performed live as a trio for the first time in March 2009 at the Strongrooms Bar in East London. [3]
During the promotion of Condors, Chris Amblin gave a copy to Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1 [4] at the Sónar music festival in 2009. Stephens played some of the tracks on his show and went on to invite the band for a live session at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios. The subsequent media attention led to the band signing to Monotreme Records where the album was re-released. Zankyo Records released Condors in Japan in early 2011.
In 2010 they performed at the popular rock festival Roskilde Festival, Sónar in Barcelona and the UK's Latitude Festival and Truck Festival. They also toured the UK and Europe opening for 65daysofstatic as well as headlining their own tour of Italy. In 2011, the band performed at South By South West in Austin, Texas as part of a British Music Showcase.
Their second studio album, In a Dim Light was released on Monotreme Records on 12 March 2012. [5]

Sea Power, previously known as British Sea Power and initially as British Air Powers, are an English alternative rock band. By the time the band had begun its recorded career, Cotton had departed, and two new members had joined: Neil Hamilton Wilkinson, known as Hamilton; and Matthew Wood, known as Wood. Eamon Hamilton joined the band in autumn 2002. He left in 2006 and was subsequently replaced by Phil Sumner, with Abi Fry joining the band in 2008.
Kasabian are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by lead vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and occasional vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff, and bassist Chris Edwards. Drummer Ian Matthews joined in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006, leaving for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter, who later became a full-time band member in 2021. Meighan left the band in July 2020, with Pizzorno stepping up as full-time lead vocalist.
Enter Shikari are a British rock band formed in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Their debut studio album, Take to the Skies, was released in 2007 and reached number 4 in the Official UK Album Chart, and has since been certified gold in the UK. Their second, Common Dreads, was released in 2009 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 16; while their third, A Flash Flood of Colour, was released in 2012 and debuted on the chart at number 4. Both have since been certified silver in the UK. The band spent a considerable amount of time supporting the latter release through the A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour, before beginning work on a fourth studio album, The Mindsweep, which was released in 2015. Their fifth studio album The Spark was released in 2017. Their sixth album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible was released in April 2020.

Cancer Bats is a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, Psychic Jailbreak, having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. In a Dim Light is the second studio album by British dubstep trio Nedry, consisting of Chris Amblin, Matt Parker, and singer Ayu Okakita. Released by Monotreme Records on 12 March 2012, In a Dim Light is an ambient post-rock dubstep record having a more atmospheric, suspenseful and "heavier" tone than the trio's debut album Condors (2010); Nedry were inspired to make an atmospheric album by audience reactions to shows the trio performed following the release of Condors. In a Dim Light garnered many favorable reviews from professional music journalists upon its release, a common praise being how it mixed several different genre and elements of other artist's works together while still maintaining a unique and coherent sound.
