Neeta Shah (born 2 Jan 1981) is an Indian producer, author, and marketing consultant in Bollywood. [1] [2]
Shah grew up in a part-Parsi, part-Gujarati family in the Breach Candy locality of South Mumbai. Though she became interested in acting in Bollywood films at age 15, her family convinced her to become a chartered accountant. [1]
Shah pursued modelling and was briefly on an MTV television show but ultimately decided not to become an actress. [1] In 2012, she worked as the Vice President of Business Development at iRock Media. [1] [3] Her novel Bollywood Striptease was published by Rupa Publications in February 2012 and iRock Media bought the rights to its film adaption before its released. [4] [5] [1] Her second book, The Stranger In Me was co-written by Aditi Mediratta and released in May 2019. [2] Shah produced and helped finance Noorani Chehra and co-produces the television show Gamer Log. Manjhi – The Mountain Man is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language biographical film based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi. Manjhi, widely known as the "Mountain Man", was a poor labourer in Gehlaur village, near Gaya in Bihar, India, who carved a path 9.1 metres (30 ft) wide and 110 metres (360 ft) long through a hill 7.6 metres (25 ft) high, using only a hammer and chisel. The film is directed by Ketan Mehta, jointly produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and NFDC India. Upon release the film received positive critical acclaim.
