Neethu Vanajakshi (born 25 February 1993) is a trans woman from Karnataka. She was a contestant at the Bigg Boss Kannada season 10. [1] [2] [3] [4] She was eliminated from the show after seven weeks. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Early life

Vanajakshi hails from Gadag district, Karnataka. [9] She was born as Manjunath. [10] [11] [12] She did her schooling at Model High School. She used to make and sell flower garlands to add to the income of the family. In 2007, she moved to Bengaluru [13] to join a college and to explore her identity. She studied art at the Ken School of Art, Bengaluru after competing her BBA degree and also did a diploma in animation. [13] She is an amateur semi-classical Kathak dancer, a yoga practitioner and a tattoo artist. [1] She used to run a hotel that served traditional North Karnataka food. [9]

Identity

She took counselling and hormonal therapy [14] in preparation for her transition to a trans woman and underwent surgery and medical treatment. In 2019, she won Miss Transqueen title [15] and earned the chance to represent India. She revealed her identity in 2016 to her sister, who was in shocked and in tears to hear her sister's story. [13] In 2020, she represented India at the Miss International Queen 2020. [1] In Big Boss, she shared her feelings [16] and how she had to keep her identity a secret before she came out. [17]

Career

Vanajakshi began as flowerseller in her village to support her family before becoming a full-fledged entrepreneur, dancer, tattoo artist and actor. [1] [18] After leaving her home town Gadag, she started a restaurant, Gama Gama, [18] [19] for her mother and a beauty parlour for her sister, to fulfill her 'responsibility towards her family'. [13] After becoming popular through the reality show 'Super Queens', [19] she made her debut in acting in the film UI directed by well-known director Upendra, [18] In the reality show Bigg Boss Kannada 10, she achieved two milestones, the captaincy of the house and 'Kicchana Chappale', the appreciation of actor Kiccha Sudeep, who is the host. Arun Sagar is an Indian actor, art director and comedian who mainly works in the Kannada film industry. He has been recognized as a leading art director throughout his career starting from his first movie, Bhoomi Geetha which won the national award for best environmental film. He has worked with veteran directors like Poori Jagannath, Meher Ramesh, Veerashankar and K Raghavendra Rao. He has received Karnataka state award for best art direction for his contributions in the movie Sri Manjunatha. He ran a show on Kasturi TV called 'Tarrle' that resembled a popular show M.A.D. from Pogo TV that taught children about art, painting and crafting. He became popular during the telecast of Maja with Sruja that aired on Asianet Suvarna where he played various comical roles that parodied celebrities and politicians. The show was a huge hit for its satire-comedy structure. Arun Sagar was later hired as the first contestant of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1, where he emerged as the runner-up for the season. He later reprised the comedy genre with a new show, Comedy Circle that was aired on ETV Kannada. The show was successful, however for unknown reasons, he opted out of the show after few episodes. He also hosted a one-man-show on the same genre known as Koyyam Kotra on TV9 (Kannada).

Swetha Changappa is a Kannada television actress who has acted in various tele-serials and films. She is well known for her role "Rani" in Majaa Talkies.

Madhuri Itagi is an Indian actress who works in predominantly Kannada-language films. She made her debut in Tenali Rama (2006). She has acted in Kannada films like Rambo (2012) and Ouija (2015). She is also well known for her part in the reality TV show Bigg Boss Kannada 3; she was eliminated from it in the first round of participation. She was also crowned Miss Karnataka in 2011.
