The Panhellenic Socialist Movement, known mostly by its acronym PASOK, is a social-democratic political party in Greece. Until 2012 it was one of the two major parties in the country, along with New Democracy, its main political rival. After a decade of poor electoral outcomes, PASOK has retained its position as one of the main Greek political parties and is currently the second largest party in the Greek Parliament.

New Democracy is a liberal-conservative political party in Greece. Alexandra "Aleka" Papariga is a Greek retired politician who served the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) as its General Secretary from 1991 to 2013. She is the first woman to be General Secretary of KKE, and thus the first woman to head a major political party in Greece.

Kyriakos Iosif Velopoulos is a Greek politician. He is a member of the Hellenic Parliament and has been president of the Greek Solution political party since its foundation in 2016. Velopoulos is a former parliamentarian for the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS) and former member of New Democracy. He is also a journalist, author and television personality.

The European Realistic Disobedience Front, or MeRA25, is a left-wing Greek political party founded in 2018. Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 21 May 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. They were the first elections since 1990 not to be held under a bonus seats system, due to amendments to the electoral law made in 2016. Instead, a purely proportional system was used.

Vasso Papandreou was a Greek politician. After being in exile during the rule of the Greek junta, she returned to Greece in 1974 and was a founding member of PASOK. In 1981, she was awarded a PhD in economics from the University of Reading.
Katerina Papakosta is a Greek politician and former MP. She is the president of the New Greek Momentum (NEO), while she had served as Deputy Minister of Civil Protection in the second cabinet of Alexis Tsipras in September 2015.
