Maria Nefeli Chatziioannidou is a Greek politician from New Democracy. She was elected to the Hellenic Parliament from the National List in the June 2023 Greek legislative election. [1]

She is a social entrepreneur and is founder of the social enterprise Great Women (Yperoxes Gynaikes), the first online women's community in Greece. [2]

Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 21 May 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. They were the first elections since 1990 not to be held under a bonus seats system, due to amendments to the electoral law made in 2016. Instead, a purely proportional system was used.

The Socialism in Greece has a significant history, with various activists, politicians and political parties identifying as socialist. Socialist movements in Greece began to form around the early 20th century, including the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) (1920–present), the Socialist Party of Greece (1920-1953) and the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK). Socialist ideology is present within the political party Syriza which forms the current opposition in Greece, also known as the Coalition of the Radical Left.

Katerina Papakosta is a Greek politician and former MP. She is the president of the New Greek Momentum (NEO), while she had served as Deputy Minister of Civil Protection in the second cabinet of Alexis Tsipras in September 2015.
