Neil Frederick Clay Martin (born 19 October 1969) is an English former first-class cricketer.
Martin was born at Birmingham,where he was educated at King Edward's School,and attended Durham University followed by Birmingham University. [1] He later went up to Keble College,Oxford. [2] While studying at Oxford,he played first-class cricket for Oxford University,making his debut against Durham at Oxford in 1994. He played first-class cricket for Oxford until 1995,making a total of twelve appearances. [3] He scored 84 runs in his twelve matches,with a high score of 26, [4] though his primary role in the Oxford side was a right-arm medium pace bowler. Martin struggled to take wickets against county opposition,with just 8 wickets at an expensive average of 75.37. [5]
Neil Douglas McKenzie is a South African former cricketer,who played all three forms of the game. He was a right-handed opening batsman who played for South Africa,making his first appearance in 2000. He is currently the high performance batting coach of South Africa. He played for the Highveld Lions in South African domestic cricket and has also played county cricket for Somerset,Durham and Hampshire.
Edward William Bastard was an English first-class cricketer who played for Oxford University and Somerset. Bastard was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler,described in his Wisden obituary as Somerset's best bowler during his time with the club. Bastard was also part of the Oxford team often said to be the university's best ever.
Kyle William Hogg is an English former cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Lancashire from 2001 to 2014. Between 2000–01 and 2002 Hogg represented the England under-19s in six youth Tests and 11 One Day Internationals (ODIs). Tristan George Lance Ballance was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. Ballance attended the University of Oxford,where he played first-class cricket for Oxford University Cricket Club from 1935–37. After graduating he became a schoolteacher,before serving in the Second World War with the Durham Light Infantry. He died of wounds sustained in action in December 1943,three months after being decorated with the Military Cross.
