Nelonen Media's premium television operation was previously named Nelonen Paketti. In March 2017, all of linear premium channels were renamed Ruutu+ after Ruutu.fi's premium plan, before they were shut down on 1 September 2018. [5]

Nelonen is a Finnish commercial television channel. It started out as Helsinki's local television channel PTV in 1990 on the HTV cable network, and changed its name first to PTV4. On June 1, 1997, the channel expanded to national coverage and changed its name to Nelonen, the Finnish name of the number four. Nelonen is mostly owned by Sanoma Corporation, which owns the Helsingin Sanomat and Ilta-Sanomat newspapers. Its largest owner was Aatos Erkko. Much of its programming is imported Australian, American, British, and European programs with Finnish captions. Its main market is the 25-44 demographic.

Big Brother Suomi is the Finnish version of the reality television franchise Big Brother. The Finnish adaptation was broadcast on Sub in Finland from 2005 to 2014.

Digital terrestrial television in Finland was launched on August 21, 2001. The analogue networks continued its broadcasts alongside the digital ones until September 1, 2007, when they were shut down nationwide.

Ruutu+ Urheilu 2 is a Finnish TV channel that specializes in sports. Urheilukanava was launched on August 27, 2001 and it was especially popular among Finnish football fans since the channel made it possible to watch both high standard domestic and international football on TV for free. Urheilukanava was replaced by Nelonen Sport in February 2010. Nelonen Sport was renamed to Nelonen Pro 2 in January 2011 and it became a pay TV channel.

Ruutu+ Urheilu 1 is a package of Finnish sports-oriented television channels owned and operated by Nelonen.

The Superpesis is the highest level of the Finnish pesäpallo league system. Contested by 13 clubs in men's league and 12 clubs in women's league, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Ykköspesis. Seasons usually run from May to August, with each men's team plays around 30 matches and women's team 24 matches in the regular and continuation series: two against each other, one at home and one away. After the regular season, a continuation series will be played to determine the 8 teams that make the play-offs and the teams that qualify for the knockout stage and the teams that are relegated. Games are played on weekday evenings and weekend afternoons.

The eleventh season of Big Brother Suomi premiered on 1 September 2019 and was aired on Jim and Nelonen. This is the first season to air on Jim and Nelonen after the first ten seasons aired on Sub from 2005–2014. After a five-year hiatus, the revival of Big Brother Suomi was announced on 14 January 2019 alongside the revival of the Polish edition of Big Brother.

Mysteerilaulajat is a Finnish television mystery music game show based on the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It premiered on Nelonen on 16 October 2021.

The fourteenth season of Big Brother Suomi premiered on 5 September 2021 and lasted for 12 weeks. It was aired on Nelonen with a 24/7 live feed on Ruutu.fi streaming service.

Erikoisjoukot is a Finnish quasi-military training television programme based on the British SAS: Who Dares Wins format. The show first premiered on streaming service Ruutu in May 2022, and later premiered on Nelonen network early 2023. Amazing RaceSuomi is a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen and following the premise of other versions in the Amazing Race franchise, the show follows teams of two as they race around the world. Each season is split into legs, with teams tasked to deduce clues, navigate themselves in foreign areas, interact with locals, perform physical and mental challenges, and travel by air, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transport. Teams are progressively eliminated at the end of most legs for being the last to arrive at designated Pit Stops. The first team to arrive at the Finish Line wins the grand prize of EUR30,000.

Top GearSuomi is a Finnish motoring-based entertainment program, based on the original British program, which premiered in February 2024 on Nelonen network and Ruutu streaming service.

The 13th season of The Voice of Finland started airing on January 19, 2024. Star coaches Elastinen and Maija Vilkkumaa continued from the previous season, and were joined by Sanni and Arttu Wiskari. The hosts for the 13th season are Heikki Paasonen and Jaana Pelkonen. The program is broadcast on TV in Finland to the channel Nelonen and is available through the Ruutu+ subscription service. Parts of the show are posted to YouTube as well. The season consists of four different phases; the Blind Auditions, Battles, Knock-Outs and Live broadcasts. "The Cut" from the previous season has been omitted.

<i>Amazing Race Suomi</i> season 2 Season of television series

This is the second season of Amazing Race Suomi, a Finnish reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race. Hosted by Heikki Paasonen, it features eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship and including at least one celebrity contestant, in a race around Central Europe and Latin America to win €30,000. This season visited three continents and travelled over 20,000 kilometres (12,000 mi) during twelve legs. Starting in Vantaa, racers travelled through Poland, Romania, Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica before returning to Finland and finishing in Helsinki. The Express Pass was introduced as a new twist for this season. The season premiered on 5 October 2024 on Nelonen and concluded on 21 December 2024.
