Gyeryongsan, a 845 m (2,772 ft) mountain in Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. It lies at the meeting of the boundaries of several cities: Gongju, Gyeryong, Nonsan, and Daejeon. It has been traditionally regarded as a sacred mountain, with the most qi of any in South Korea. The name Gyeryongsan means chicken dragon mountain. Portions of the mountain are included in a South Korean military reserve. Other portions are part of Gyeryongsan National Park. In the mountain, there are famous Buddhist temples such as Donghaksa, Gapsa and Sinwonsa, the latter two both being over a thousand years old. In addition the highest peak, Cheonhwangbong, there are seven other peaks with an elevation exceeding 500m

Typhoon Neoguri, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Ambo, was the earliest tropical cyclone on record to strike China. The first named storm in the 2008 Pacific typhoon season, named after the Korean word for raccoon dog, it formed from a low pressure area on April 13 to the east of the Philippine island of Mindanao, and after crossing the island it intensified into a tropical storm in the South China Sea. Environmental conditions allowed for quick strengthening, with Neoguri attaining typhoon status on April 16. The typhoon reached its peak intensity on April 18 as it approached the island of Hainan, and subsequently it turned northward. Due to increased wind shear and cooler waters, Neoguri rapidly weakened and made landfall as a minimal tropical storm in southern China on April 19.

Saccharina japonica is a marine species of the Phaeophyceae class, a type of kelp or seaweed, which is extensively cultivated on ropes between the seas of China, Japan and Korea. It has the common name sweet kelp. It is widely eaten in East Asia. A commercially important species, S. japonica is also called ma-konbu (真昆布) in Japanese, dasima (다시마) in Korean and hǎidài (海带) in Chinese. Large harvests are produced by rope cultivation which is a simple method of growing seaweeds by attaching them to floating ropes in the ocean.

The season's peak months August and September saw minimal activity caused by an unusually strong and a persistent suppressing phase of the Madden–Julian oscillation (MJO). The season ran throughout 2014, though most tropical cyclones typically develop between May and October. The season began with the development of Tropical Storm Lingling on January 18, and ended after Tropical Storm Jangmi which dissipated on January 1 of the next year.

The season's first typhoon, Wutip, reached typhoon status on February 20. Wutip further intensified into a super typhoon on February 23, becoming the strongest February typhoon on record, and the strongest tropical cyclone recorded in February in the Northern Hemisphere. The season's last named storm, Phanfone, dissipated on December 29 after it made landfall in the Philippines.

The scope of this article is limited to the Pacific Ocean, north of the equator between 100°E and the International Date Line. Tropical storms that form in the entire Western Pacific basin are assigned a name by the Japan Meteorological Agency. Tropical depressions that form in this basin are given a number with a "W" suffix by the United States' Joint Typhoon Warning Center. In addition, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) assigns names to tropical cyclones that enter or form in the Philippine area of responsibility. These names, however, are not in common use outside of the Philippines.
Typhoon Neoguri, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Florita, was a large and powerful tropical cyclone which struck Japan in 2014. The eighth named storm and the second typhoon of the annual typhoon season, Neoguri developed into a tropical storm on July 3 and then a typhoon on July 4. It rapidly deepened on July 5, reaching peak intensity late on July 6. Neoguri began to decay on July 7 and passed through Okinawa on July 8 and then making landfall over Kyushu as a severe tropical storm late on July 9. After Neoguri passed through the southern coast of Honshū on July 10, it became extratropical on July 11.
Neoguri is a brand of ramyun produced by Nongshim in South Korea since 1982. It is exported to over 80 countries, and is the fourth highest selling brand of noodles in South Korea. It is well known for its thick noodles and its spicy seafood flavour. The Korean version has a big piece of kombu, while the U.S. version does not have the kombu in it.
Chapagetti is a brand of ramyeon produced by Nongshim. It was first released in South Korea on March 19, 1984. Chapagetti is the first instant noodle product to resemble jajangmyeon in South Korea and is the second highest-selling brand of instant noodles in South Korea, behind Shin Ramyun. Its name is a portmanteau of jajangmyeon and spaghetti. In 2012, sales of Chapagetti reached 159.5 billion won with 88% of market share.
Clever Raccoon Dog is a North Korean animated television series produced by SEK Studio which aired on North Korean state television. The series was produced for a number of years and features both old and new animation styles, depending on the production year of each episode. The series focuses on three main characters, who are often involved in minor adventures or incidents. Each episode has a scholastic element or a particular message, focusing on matters as scientific information, road safety, sportsmanship, among others. The first 9 episodes are co-produced with the French animation studio Col.Ima.Son and P.M.M.P.
Jjapaguri or Chapaguri, also known in English as ram-don, is a Korean noodle dish made by a combination of Chapagetti and Neoguri, two types of instant noodles produced by Nongshim. Irene Jiang of Insider described it as "comfort food". University of California East Asian studies professor Jennifer Jung-Kim described it as, as paraphrased by Sarah Coughlin, "a budget comfort food", and Coughlin herself described it as 'a uniquely Korean dish".
