This was the first edition of the Neox Fan Awards, created by Atresmedia and Fanta for teenage audiences to honor the best of the year in films, television, music and sports. The show featured live performances by La Oreja de Van Gogh and Auryn.
Also, a contest was held amongst every fan who voted for the awards. The winner, Carla Martín, was given the chance to present one of the awards alongside Berta Collado.

Auryn was a 5-member Spanish boy band founded in 2009. Signed to Warner Music, they sang in English and Spanish.
Noah Leslie Hathaway is an American actor and a former teen idol. He is best known for his roles as Atreyu in the 1984 film The NeverEnding Story and for portraying Boxey on the original television series Battlestar Galactica. His work in The NeverEnding Story made him particularly popular as a teen idol in Europe.
Blas Cantó Moreno is a Spanish singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member of the Spanish band Auryn. In 2017, he embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album Complicado was released in September 2018, the album peaked at number one on the Spanish Albums Chart. He was going to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, with the song "Universo" but the competition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He represented Spain instead in Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Voy a quedarme".

The Neox Fan Awards were presented annually between 2012 and 2015 by Spanish media group Atresmedia in association with The Coca-Cola Company, being Fanta the main sponsor of the awards. The aim was to create awards dedicated to the teenage audience in a similar style to that of the MTV Video Music Awards or Fox's Teen Choice Awards. The show was aired on Atresmedia's teen-oriented channel Neox.
