Nervous Germans was a German new wave rock band formed in 1980. [1] [2]
In 1981, they released their debut album Nervösen Deutschen (English release: Desolation Zone, 1982). Their second Album Summer of Love (1983) was also their last, as they disbanded on 1 July 1984 in the aftermath of a concert in Linnich (with Mitch Ryder). The Name was suggested to Micki Meuser by Alex Londner (Aachen, Germany), possibly in view of Germany being a nuclear battlefield after the NATO Double-Track Decision.
They recorded a session with John Peel in October 1980 [3] produced by Bob Sargeant (The Beat).
Udo Dahmen (Kraan) played drums on the debut album. Other former members include Steve Carroll (guitarist of Praying Mantis) Robbie Vondenhoff (Zeltinger Band, Ina Deter), Mike Rossi (Slaughter & the Dogs), Alan Darby (Cockney Rebel, Eric Clapton), Frank Jermann and Hitta Thomas.
Meuser and Stevens reformed Nervous Germans in 2012 with Gary Schmalzl on guitar & Sabine Ahlbrecht on drums. They subsequently toured twice with Billy Idol opening the shows in Germany. This experience helped spawn the single "Punk Rock Radio" which received substantial college radio airplay in the United States.

The Id were an English new wave/synthpop band from the Wirral, Merseyside, England, formed in 1977. They are best recalled as the precursor to the band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), in which Id members Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys (keyboards) and Malcolm Holmes (drums) would reunite; Gary Hodgson (guitar) would also reappear as a technician for the new group. A number of The Id's songs, including "Electricity", were re-recorded by OMD.
Nightingales are a British post-punk/alternative rock band, formed in 1979 in Birmingham, England, by four members of Birmingham's punk group The Prefects. They had been part of The Clash's 'White Riot Tour', recorded a couple of Peel Sessions, released a 45 on Rough Trade and, years after splitting up, had a retrospective CD released by US indie label Acute Records.

Gang Green is an American punk rock band originally from Braintree, Massachusetts. Chris Doherty (guitar), Bill Manley (bass) and Mike Dean (drums) started the band in 1980 and broke up in 1983. Doherty reformed Gang Green the following year, and the band experienced numerous lineup changes until its dissolution for the second time in 1992. Doherty has been the band's only constant member and has kept Gang Green active from 2005 onwards. Despite signing for major label Virgin, and being favourites with the UK music press, they never enjoyed a major hit in the UK, although "Don't Get Mad… Get Even" reached No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play chart.

The Membranes are an English post-punk band formed in Blackpool, Lancashire in 1977, the initial line-up being John Robb, Mark Tilton (guitar), Martyn Critchley (vocals) and Martin Kelly (drums). A vinyl compilation album of their music called The Intimate Sound of Trixie’s Big Red Motorbike was released by Accident Records in 1995. A retrospective album called All Day Long in Bliss was released on Lobby Lud Records in February of 2012. They reformed that same year.
