Hidilyn Francisco Diaz-Naranjo is a Filipino weightlifter and airwoman. She holds two Olympic records in weightlifting for her performance at the women's 55 kg category for weightlifting at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) is the aerial warfare service branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Initially formed as part of the Philippine Army as the Philippine Army Air Corps (PAAC) in 1935, the PAAC eventually saw combat during World War 2 and was formally separated from the Army in 1947 as a separate service branch of the AFP under Executive Order No. 94. Gregorio Colonia is a retired flyweight weightlifter from the Philippines who competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics. After retiring from competitions he worked as a weightlifting coach. His trainees include his nephew Nestor Colonia.
The Philippines participated at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. The country won 21 medals to finish 19th overall in the medal tally of the games; an improvement from 22nd place placement of the country in the previous 2014 edition. Samuel Alegada is a Filipino weightlifter. He competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Alegada later became a coach for the weightlifting national team of the Philippines.
Ramón Solis is a Filipino weightlifter. He has represented the Philippines internationally from 1975 to 1998. He won several medals in the Southeast Asian Games from 1977 to 1997. He won gold medals in 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989 and 1991 in the Southeast Asian Games. He competed in the men's middle heavyweight event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He has also competed at the 1998 Asian Games in the men's 105 kg event.
Vanessa Palomar Sarno is a Filipino weightlifter who is a gold medalist in major international competitions, including the 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships and the 2023 Southeast Asian Games. She has set new Philippine records and bagged three gold medals at the 2023 Asian Youth and Junior Championships. Sarno is currently recognized as one of the top weightlifters in the Philippines.
