New BEL Road is a commercial and residential street in north Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The street is three kilometers long and houses a number of fine dining restaurants, pubs, retail outlets, gyms and salons. [1] [2]

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 1 May 2016 to distribute 50 million LPG connections to women of BPL families. A budgetary allocation of 800 billion (US$11 billion) was made for the scheme. In the first year of its launch, the connections distributed were 22 million against the target of 15 million. As of 23 October 2017, 30 million connections were distributed, 44% of which were given to families belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. The number crossed 58 million by December 2018. In 2018 Union Budget of India, its scope was widened to include 80 million poor households. 21,000 awareness camps were conducted by oil marketing companies (OMC). The scheme led to an increase in LPG consumption by 56% in 2019 as compared to 2014. However, while access to LPG gas stoves and cylinders has increased in the scheme, the use of LPG cylinders remains low.

GSAT-20 is a communication satellite jointly being developed by Indian Space Research Organisation Satellite Centre and Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre and will be launched by ISRO. GSAT-20 will be a continuation of GSAT series of communication satellites. The satellite is intended to add data transmission capacity to the communication infrastructure required by Smart Cities Mission of India.

Church Street, Bangalore

Church Street is one of the busiest streets in Central Business District, Bangalore, India. It is a 750-metre stretch from Brigade Road to St. Mark's Road, which runs parallel to M G Road. A "tourist hotspot", the street is one of the major revenue-generating areas and popular New Year's Eve celebration centres in the city. The 2019–20 Bangalore Super Division is the ninth season of the Bangalore Super Division which is the third tier of the Indian association football system and the top tier of the Karnataka football system. The season started on 2 November 2019. Bengaluru FC 'B' were the defending champions. All games were played at Bangalore Football Stadium. The league was contested by top 12 teams from 2018–19 season as well as Income Tax and AGORC who were promoted from 2018–19 Bangalore 'A' division. They replaced Jawahar Union and CIL who were relegated to 2019–20 Bangalore 'A' Division.

Citizenship Amendment Act protests 2019–2020 protests in India

The Citizenship Amendment Act protests, also known as the CAA and NRC protests, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and National Register of Citizens protests, or the CAB and NRC protests, are a series of ongoing protests in India, against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), which was enacted into law on 12 December 2019, and against proposals to enact a nationwide National Register of Citizens (NRC). The protests began in Assam, Delhi, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura on 4 December 2019. In a few days, the protests spread across India, though the concerns of the protesters vary.
