New Jersey Swimming (NJ) is the Local Swimming Committee (LSC) (governing body) for competitive swimming in the central and northern New Jersey area. They are a member of USA Swimming and the Eastern Zone. Most of the athletes who compete in NJ-sponsored swim meets are youths under the age of 18.
NJ is one of the 59 LSCs of USA Swimming. NJ covers the 13 counties north of, and including, Mercer and Monmouth county. All of NJ lies within the state of New Jersey.

The New Jersey LSC is run by its board of directors, elected by the House of Delegates.
USA Swimming is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States. It is charged with selecting the United States Olympic Swimming team and any other teams that officially represent the United States, as well as the overall organization and operation of the sport within the country, in accordance with the Olympic and Amateur Sports Act. The national headquarters of USA Swimming is located at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Peter William Vanderkaay is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in middle-distance freestyle events and is a four-time Olympic medalist. He was a member of the United States Olympic team in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and won bronze medals in the 200-meter freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 400-meter freestyle at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Scott Daniel Goldblatt is an American former competition swimmer and Olympic gold medalist who specialized in freestyle events.
Mitzi Patricia Kremer, later known by her married name Mitzi Tighe, is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Kremer received a bronze medal as a member of the third-place U.S. team in the women's 4×100-meter freestyle relay, together with teammates Mary Wayte, Dara Torres and Laura Walker.
Lauren Anne English is an American swimmer who represented the United States at the Pan Pacific Championships (2006), the World University Games (2007) and the Junior Pan Pacific Games (2005). English was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and resides in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. She set the United States Open Record in the 50 Meter Backstroke. She swam collegiately for the University of Georgia. Upon her retirement from higher level swimming she enrolled at New York University and is now a certified neurology RN at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Elizabeth Anne Pelton is an American former competitive swimmer and multi FINA world champion.
The Champaign County YMCA Heat Swim Team (HEAT) is a competitive age group swim program that serves all ages and abilities in Champaign County and the surrounding areas. Participants attend weekly practices in Urbana and Champaign and are offe, determined by their skill. The team is competitive at a national level for the YMCA and USA Swimming.
Caeleb Remel DresselOLY is an American professional swimmer who specializes in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events. He swims representing the Cali Condors as part of the International Swimming League. He won a record seven gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, nine medals, six of which were gold, at the 2018 World Swimming Championships in Hangzhou, and eight medals, including six gold, at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju. Dressel is a seven-time Olympic gold medalist and holds world records in the 100 meter butterfly, 50 meter freestyle, and 100 meter individual medley.
Regan Smith is an American competitive swimmer. She is the world junior record holder in the women's long course 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter backstroke and a former world record holder in the long course 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in three events representing the United States, winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke, a silver medal in the 200-meter butterfly, and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay. At the World Aquatics Championships, she won gold medals in the 200-meter backstroke in 2019 and the 100-meter backstroke in 2022.

Hannah Margaret McNair "Maggie" Mac Neil is a Canadian competitive swimmer. A 100 metre butterfly event specialist, she is the 2020 Olympic champion, 2019 World (LC) champion, two-time World (SC) champion (2021–2022), and 2022 Commonwealth champion in that event, and also holds the current Americas record (55.59s) and the world record in the short course 100 metre butterfly.
Alexandra "Alex" Walsh is an American competitive swimmer. She won a silver medal in the women's 200-meter individual medley event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. At the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, she won gold in the women's 200-meter individual medley. Walsh is the current U.S. Open record holder in the women's 200-meter individual medley. She is the former American record holder in the women's 200-yard individual medley. She is a member of the current American record relays in the 4x50 yard freestyle relay, 4x100 yard freestyle relay, 4x100 yard medley relay and 4x200 short course meter freestyle record. Alex is known for her incredible versatility in all four strokes.
Ryan Hoffer is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and butterfly events. He competes as part of the International Swimming League for the team DC Trident. Hoffer is currently the national age group record holder in the 100 yard freestyle for the boys 17-18 year old age group. He won two silver medals at the 2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in relay events.
Kieran Smith is an American swimmer specializing in freestyle and individual medley events. He currently co-holds short course world records in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay and the 4×100 meter medley relay. He is the Americas record holder in the short course 400 meter freestyle and the American record holder in the 500 yard freestyle. In the 400 meter freestyle, he won the bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the gold medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships. Following a fourth-place finish in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won gold medals in the event at the 2021 World Short Course Championships, 2022 World Aquatics Championships, and the 2022 World Short Course Championships.
Drew Kibler is an American competition swimmer specializing in freestyle events. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×200 meter freestyle relay and a former American record holder in the 4×200 yard freestyle relay. He won a gold medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay each at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships and the 2022 World Short Course Championships and placed fourth in the event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In the 200 meter freestyle, he took fourth-place at both the 2022 World Aquatics Championships and the 2022 World Short Course Championships. He is also a three-time NCAA champion in the 4×200 yard freestyle relay, winning NCAA titles in the event in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
Katherine Cadwallader Douglass is an American swimmer who is currently on the USA National Team. In 2021 she placed second in the 200m meter individual medley at the 2020 Olympic Swimming Trials, qualifying for the US Olympic Team. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she won a bronze medal in the same event. She is currently swimming for the University of Virginia where she competes at the collegiate level, and is an eight-time NCAA champion. In addition, she also holds the American record in the women's 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly, and 200 yard breaststroke. At the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, Douglass became the first swimmer to win three individual titles in three different strokes.
Brooks Curry is an American competitive swimmer. He is an Olympian and a gold medalist in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. At the 2022 NCAA Championships, he won the NCAA title in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, he won a gold medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, swimming the anchor leg of the relay in both the prelims and the final, a bronze medal in the 4×100-meter mixed freestyle relay, swimming in the final, and placed fifth in the 100-meter freestyle.
David Avery Curtiss is an American professional swimmer. He is a US Open record holder in the 4×50-yard medley relay. At the 2019 World Junior Championships, he won the silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle. In 2021, he set a new American high school record in the 50-yard freestyle for all high school swimming, public and private, in the United States. At the 2022 World Short Course Championships, he competed in three freestyle relay events and the 50-meter freestyle, winning a bronze medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay. He is a 2023 NCAA Division I champion in the 4×50-yard medley relay.
Trenton Jeffrey Julian is an American competitive swimmer. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×200 meter freestyle relay and 4×100 meter medley relay. He won a gold medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay at the 2019 World University Games. He followed this win up with gold medals in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay at the 2021 World Short Course Championships, 2022 World Aquatic Championships, and 2022 World Short Course Championships. In the 4×100 meter medley relay, he won a world title and gold medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships, swimming butterfly on each the prelims and finals relay.
Jordan Crooks is a Caymanian competitive swimmer. He won the first medal of any color and first gold medal for the Cayman Islands at the FINA World Short Course Swimming Championships. He also holds nine national records for the Cayman Islands.
