The New Jersey Theatre Alliance is a nonprofit nongovernmental service organization that promotes and supports professional theaters throughout New Jersey. It is one of the nation's first and largest such entities. [1] [2] Its mission is to "unite, promote, strengthen, and cultivate" the state's professional theater community. [3]
Founded in 1981, the organization has a six-member team and serves 42 professional theaters in the state as well as in New Hope, Pennsylvania. [4] [5]
The Alliance provides various resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy efforts to build the growth and visibility of theater in New Jersey. It collaborates with theaters, artists, educators, and the public to foster a professional theater culture in the state. [6] [7] [8] [9]

Paper Mill Playhouse is a regional theater containing approximately 1,200 seats located in Millburn, within Essex County, New Jersey, United States, on the banks of the Rahway River. Due to its relative proximity to Manhattan, the theater draws from the pool of actors who live in New York City. Paper Mill was officially designated as the "State Theater of New Jersey". From 1971 to 2008, Paper Mill held the New Jersey Ballet as its resident ballet company, with the annual production of Nutcracker until the premiere 25th Anniversary tour of Les Misérables took up the ballet's performance slot. Mark S. Hoebee serves as the producing artistic director, and is often credited as saving the Paper Mill during the financial crisis in 2008.
The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation is an American philanthropic organization based in Newark, New Jersey which supports racial justice nonprofit organizations across New Jersey. The foundation believes that philanthropy includes not only providing resources, but also connecting leaders across sectors, sharing expertise, and promoting collaboration to help build movements for change in important matters. It funds New Jersey-focused working towards a just and equitable state. The foundation announced its decision to shift it headquarters to Newark in 2023 to better advance its mission.

The Boonton Reservoir is a 700-acre (280 ha) reservoir located between Boonton and Parsippany–Troy Hills, New Jersey. Boonton, along with nearby Splitrock Reservoir, provides water for Jersey City, New Jersey. It was formed by the construction of a dam on the Rockaway River completed in 1904 on the site of the original town of Boonton.
