The New Orleans Voodoo Spiritual Temple was established in New Orleans, Louisiana, in May 1990 by Priest Oswan Chamani and Priestess Miriam Chamani.
Over the years the Temple has grown in its knowledge of Voodoo in relation with World Religions, and serves many people throughout America and the World. The Temple follows a unique version of Voodoo that combines elements of other spiritual paths with traditional practices. It has become known through television and movie production, and is visited by representatives of universities, anthropologists, and researchers in African-based religion. The Temple has a troupe of sacred drummers called the Krewe of Nutria led, in part, by Louis Martinie', who have played for the New Orleans Voodoo Museum, and at various local functions. It is located at 1428 North Rampart Street [1] down the road from Historic Congo Square Park where African slaves held their rituals every Sunday evening in the Seventeen through Eighteen Hundreds.
Lwa, also called loa, are spirits in the African diasporic religion of Haitian Vodou and Dominican Vúdu. They have also been incorporated into some revivalist forms of Louisiana Voodoo. A manbo is a priestess in the Haitian Vodou religion. Haitian Vodou's conceptions of priesthood stem from the religious traditions of enslaved people from Dahomey, in what is today Benin. For instance, the term manbo derives from the Fon word nanbo. Like their West African counterparts, Haitian manbos are female leaders in Vodou temples who perform healing work and guide others during complex rituals. This form of female leadership is prevalent in urban centers such as Port-au-Prince. Typically, there is no hierarchy among manbos and oungans. These priestesses and priests serve as the heads of autonomous religious groups and exert their authority over the devotees or spiritual servants in their hounfo (temples).
The Canal Street Ferry, also known as the Algiers Ferry, is a ferry across the Mississippi River in the U.S. state of Louisiana, connecting the foot of Canal Street in the Central Business District of New Orleans with Algiers on the West Bank. It carries pedestrians only for $2.00 one way. This increase in price from (formerly) free took effect February 23, 2014. The Crescent City Connection Division of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development operates the ferry. Ferries depart daily from the West Bank on the hour and half hour, beginning at 6 a.m. (06:00) Departures from the East Bank are on the quarter-hour and three quarters hour, the last leaving at 12:15 a.m. (00:15).

New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum is a voodoo museum in New Orleans, United States. Its exhibits focus on mysteries, history, and folklore related to the African diaspora religion of Louisiana Voodoo. It is situated between Bourbon and Royal Streets in the centre of the French Quarter. Although only a small museum, consisting of two rooms, it is one of few museums in the world dedicated entirely to Vodou art. There is a voodoo priest on site giving readings. Separately, the museum also hosts walking tours to the Marie Laveau tomb in the Saint Louis Cemetery and the Congo Square.
